1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Baby wrapping love on: May 17, 2010 11:06:16 AM
This was the last project I finished when I was pregnant but my daughter's only just grown into it (OK, it's still a bit big but I just couldn't wait to see what it looked like on!)
I've posted a bit more info and pics on my blog http://jo2308.typepad.com/blissedoutknitting/2010/05/lois-daykin-love-part-two.html for anyone who's interested.

2  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Mini Boden homage/ripoff! on: April 13, 2010 04:58:20 AM
I was in love with a Mini Boden dress I saw in the catalogue and wanted to make something similar for my daughter.  I found some Cool Cords Fabric by Robert Kaufman and made a simple A line dress loosely based on an Amy Butler pattern.  I am soooo pleased with the results.

I've posted a few more pics on my blog for anyone who's interested.

3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Polly Rabbit - great for sucking! on: March 12, 2010 12:54:47 PM
I knitted this baby toy for my daughter who's 5 months old.  I was really pleased with myself becuase i was seriously doubtful that my brain would be able to handle the concentration required for fair isle especially with sleep deprivation and baby brain.  I think it looks lovely but my daughter just seems to like to suck it!

I've put a few more details on my blog:
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Bodacious Bamboo Baby Cardi on: March 12, 2010 12:49:56 PM
This cardigan is taken from Lois Daykin's fabulous book baby knits. It's got some gorgeous patterns in it with really clear instructions. They've stretched my knitting abilities but in a good way.

This is knitted in Sirdar Baby Bamboo in a lovely soft mint green. It's a bit big for Maya at the moment (it's meant to be 6-12 months and she's not quite 6 months yet) but I think it'll be lovely for the summer.

I've posted a few more pics on my blog if anyone's interested:
5  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Baby Butterfly Smock Top on: June 16, 2009 11:05:43 AM
I'm expecting a baby in September and have been wanting to make this top ever since I saw the pattern in Sew Hip magazine.  It was surprisingly easy to make (even for my limited sewing skills!) and I'm really pleased with the results - I just hope it fits!

I've posted a couple more pictures on my blog:http://jo2308.typepad.com/blissedoutknitting/2009/06/butterflys-.html if anyone's interested.  Thanks for looking

6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Lacy Baby Matinee Coat on: June 13, 2009 01:44:13 AM
I'm knitting like crazy for my baby girl due in September.  Although my hubby doesn't want ANYTHING pink -think he's onto a loser on that one, but I have to say I generally like other colours than purely pink for little girls  - but I'm not averse to a bit of girly pink either!

Anyway, I just couldn't help myself when I saw this yarn on sale.  The pattern is Debbie Bliss from her Cashmerino Baby book and it was pretty easy to knit up - clear instructions and nothing too complex to follow.  Even hubby begrudgingly likes it!

Would really appreciate your opinions - there's a couple more pics on my blog:http://jo2308.typepad.com/blissedoutknitting/2009/06/more-baby-making.html

7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Blue for a girl? on: May 17, 2009 05:36:22 AM

I'm currently 22 weeks pregnant and just discovered we're expecting a girl.  Of course I didn't want to waste the yarn I'd already bought and I'm a bit against all this strict - blue for a boy, pink for a girl stuff, so I've made a little shrug cardigan using some lovely blue organic cotton yarn.  Because the pattern is so 'girly' anyway I though it actually works pretty well - maybe I'll completely forgo the pink altogether from now on!

8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Sunshine Spring Maternity Top on: May 04, 2009 02:04:51 PM
I've been struggling to find funky, affordable maternity clothes so when I can across this tutorial recently on Sew Mama Sew I thought I'd give it a go.  I raided my fabric stash and found a yard of Amy Butler Mustard fabric which goes beautifully with the sky blue.

I'm a bit scared with the rate my pregnant boobs are growing so may have to let it out soon but for now it fits just perfectly.

I've posted a few more details at my bloghttp://jo2308.typepad.com/blissedoutknitting/2009/05/spring-top-.html along with a couple more pics.

Thanks for looking!

9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / New Mummy Necklace on: April 19, 2009 02:06:09 PM
A really good friend of mine has just had her first baby after several years (and heartaches) of trying.  She's already step mum to two lovely older boys so I wanted to make her a new mummy necklace to celebrate her family.  I love the little blue bead and how well it sets off the silver.

I've posted a couple more pics on my blog: http://jo2308.typepad.com/blissedoutknitting/2009/04/baby-knitting-a-new-mummy-necklace.html
