Every the end of the week I host Yappy Hour for my Friday clients (I have a little doggie daycare).  The humans can relax and have some wine and food and the dogs get to run around and play.  I made these shirts for my Yappy Hour gang!

22  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / dog walking bag from placemats on: May 22, 2006 09:46:41 PM
I was messing around with some .50 cent canvas placemats from Oriental Trading Company, my embroidery machine and some chalkboard fabric and came up with this - my new dog walking bag:

The flash makes it look like it has way more texture than it really does.  I really should have used a stabilizer, but I thought it was going to turn out really ugly, so I didn't bother!

23  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Screen Printing: Completed Projects / First screen projects! on: May 22, 2006 08:35:57 PM
Well, I have been wanting to learn to silk screen forever but just couldn't commit to the space it seems to require.  I saw this posting https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=68312.0 and thought I would try this stuff.  I know it may be "cheating" but it was so fun and easy!  A friend and I decided to do a couple of shirts for our respective businesses. Thanks so much uglyshyla for the link!

His shirt:

My shirt (which turned out really great but the grey color of the shirt makes the pic look horrible, also the little dog is also screened on the front):

and some undies that I thought would be funny since my bottom seems to get more piggly and wiggly with each passing year!!:

4. Please make an item that you would like to receive. Do some research and communicate with your partner.

5.Delivery Confirmation Numbers will be required for all packages

6.  It is important to communicate with your partners and the organizer.  When you have received, please remember to inform your partner and the organizer!  If you are late, you need to pm your partner and the swap organizer ASAP.

8. I will send reminder PMs to check on your progress, this will help people avoid flaking. If you have any concerns or questions, pm me rather than just dropping out. If you and your partner have problems let me know so we can organize something.  Lets make this a flake free and fun swap!

26  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Discussion and Questions / Another Polymer Clay question! Evil red? on: May 10, 2006 12:47:27 AM
I was doing a project and everything was going great until I used red.  Now there is red in my pasta machine (and for some unknown reason everywhere else!  I tell ya, this stuff is evil!).  I have tried to clean the machine but it has been two days and I am still trying to get the red out, this has never happened with any other color - I am using Fimo soft.

I know I am not supposed to, but what if I run it through the dishwasher?  At this point, I'm desperate!  Huh

UGGGHHH, is there a trick to this or do all of you have a separate pasta machine for red?!?!?!  Or am I just an idiot?  Please help!  Thanks in advance!
27  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / glueing fabric to metal? (Yirq, please do not read! spoiler!) on: May 10, 2006 12:33:54 AM
I checked out thistothat.com but they recommended using a spray which won't work for this project.  I want to glue a piece of elastic to the inside of an altoids box.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as this is for a swap to be sent out next Monday! Thanks!!!
28  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / New Monkey Stuff (image heavy!) on: April 10, 2006 07:21:08 PM

Jacket 1 - Made with a monkey print and the lining is a banana print

Monkey wearing it:

A raincoat because it won't stop raining here!  It looks too small in the picture but actually fits him just right.

and a bag to put all of his new duds in!

29  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Miss Ellie has passed away - is there a sewing machine blue book? on: April 09, 2006 08:02:47 PM
Hey guys, I am so sad, my beloved Elna sewing machine passed away yesterday.   Cry

She died an honorable death (sewing a pink fur dog bed) and the sewing machine doctors said that it would be kinder to send her to sewing machine heaven where she will sew nothing but straight stitches on cotton fabric for eternity.  She is survived by her Brother 180D Embroidery Machine.  In lieu of flowers we are asking that mourners hug their machine and tell them how much they appreciate their hard work and dedication.

A friend who knew I was grieving offered to re-home his Janome Memory Craft 4400 (which has never been used) at a very low adoption fee. He wants $200 plus my back-up machine, a $200 Janome 4052.   Yes I feel disloyal looking at sewing machines already, but that pink fur dog bed must be sewn.  Ellie would have wanted it this way.

Is there a blue book on line for sewing machines?  I googled and couldn't find anything.  I just want to find out everything I can before I adopt this Janome.  It is hard waiting because Jerome (yes I named him already!) is sooo cute and frisky!

Can anyone help?

30  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Does anyone have a Janome Harmony 4052 LX? Sears brand on: April 02, 2006 01:08:30 PM
I just picked one up as a back up for my Elna and for the life of me cannot figure out how to change the stitches from a straight stitch.  I can't even figure out how to switch to zigzag!  The manual doesn't say anything either!  Can anyone help?  Thanks!!!
