1  Re: Fill a mug Round 4 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by girlosun_9 on: February 15, 2009 05:36:05 PM
Thanks pinkleo for posting pics.  I am actually still disgustingly sick but now well enough to do more then work/take care of my kids.  Going to bed at 6:30-7 pm remined me of being pregnant.  Not sure what I caught (I usually get bronchitis every winter but this wasn't it) but it is hanging on for ever.  I have vacation for the next week so am tackling things I wouldn't as they have been tiring me out.  I have to say, the hat is super fabulous and I wear it everywhere.  My daughters want it for theirs, several students have attempted to hijack it.  Alls good though, as it is still with me  Tongue

This hat pic is taken on my daughter who is four so it isn't overlarge on an adult size head.  Super soft and super cute.  Thanks so much!!!

I received (awhile ago) this beautiful hat from antarcticraft, the pictures are taken on my four year old so that hat looks large but fits me perfectly fine!  There was (as I have used it already as it was just to fabulous) also diamond glaze.  This package arrived at the perfect time and greatly perked up my week.  Thanks so much!!!

I also received felt food and two kiddie sized oven mitts from koolkoala.  All put to immediate use by my children.  Thanks!

I received this beautiful earring set from I'm Sew Silly along with a ring that is (unfortunately) sitting on my desk at work so I didn't get a picture yet.

I haven't worn the earrings to work yet as I don't like lots of compliments and I am sure these would garner them  Grin  I have worn them to the store and to several family events and everyone has complemented them and the ring.  Thanks so much!

I also received two superhero capes from musiclady.

These capes are fully reversible and have applique on both sides.  The little one (my 2 year old) doesn't sit/stand still long enough for pics but the four year old almost did).  These capes have been much loved since arriving at our house and have even been attempted to be brought to school (which isn't allowed in the four year old's case or I would have let her wear it).

The oldest's is black and red and the youngest's is black and blue.  Bat and Spider Appliques.  Just gorgous Smiley

7  Re: Fiber Friday November 14, 2008 in Spinning: Completed Projects by girlosun_9 on: November 14, 2008 05:01:19 PM
This is my first fiber friday although I would have had the first one to post last friday if I had remembered Smiley

This first one was spun on a drop spindle and it is roving that I received in a swap with maremare.  There is about 200 yds here.

My next is my first spun on a wheel (brown) along with my first that my 4 year old spun with me (fiber from a swap with lapoli).  I loved this one so much that it was spun Tuesday morning, plied Tuesday night, and crocheted Wednesday morning (and I work all day if that tells you even more how much I loved it  Grin ).  Pictures of the neckwarmer once it is done drying.
The Twist

This one is super super super soft.  It is alpaca and has been pllied with thread.  The alpace fiber is from a farm we visited this last summer that is about 20 miles from my house.
Chocolate on My Brain

Oops, this one is actually my first on the wheel.  The brown above was my second and the alpaca above was my third.  Very irregular but it has already made its way in to a very forgiving hat.  Fiber from lapoli.
Merry and Bright

And the last that I have a picture of due to rain for the last two days is much more regular/consistent.  There is about 125 yds and the fiber is from lapoli (who really really spoiled me in a swap).
