1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Headscarf ! on: January 14, 2008 05:53:59 AM
Found some colourful skulls fabric the other day and decided they'll make a pretty nice headscarf. My first project using a sewing machine, hence some seams didnt turn out too well. Took some effort sewing the sides in too. But i'm quite happy with it for a first attempt.  Grin

I made another with a white fabric with colourful monkeys which my sister took. She's wearing it right now and i'm unable to pry it away from her head.
2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Sunjar ! on: January 08, 2008 07:48:08 AM
I dismantled a solar lamp and fixed it onto a jar, placed in crumpled tracing paper and added in marbles to make the glow softer and have a speckled feel to it. Lastly, tied a ribbon and now i have a sunjar !

It lights up once in the dark ! Perfect as a night light (which is what i'm using it as now).

It would've been cuter if i could stuff the panel in but these solar lamps my friend got for me has their circuit soldered onto the casing so it's pretty impossible to do so. I modified the jars i got instead to make it work for me. So the solar panel looks as if it's supposed to be a part of the 'supposed ginished product'. Although not as nice as i originally planned it to be, i still quite like my current sunjar ! Grin
3  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Introduce Yourself / Singaporean here on: December 26, 2007 05:39:35 AM
Hello people, just joined the boards but have in fact been stalking out some of the forums for several days already.

I'm from Singapore (we're in Asia, at the very tip of Malaysia for those who dont know) and we're a sunny little island nation. I'm 18 this year and have been into crafts since a young age but only started getting more serious about in this few years.

I enjoy book binding of all styles, sewing of plushies, cross stitching, jewelery making and am learning how to sew using the scary sewing machine lately.

Hoping to take my books to a whole new level by making all my paper bound. Love the info about and i cant wait to join the swaps ! Cheers !
