1  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Crafty Charitable/Social Causes / Need ideas for gay fundraisers on: January 25, 2009 02:39:20 PM
Hello! I am apart of The GLBT Pittsburgh Student Association and we're currently trying to think of crafty (gay!) ideas to fund raise. What do you think we should make/do?
We're trying to think of something that would take less than 30minutes to complete, sells between 10-25 dollars USD, and won't take much material wise.
Tee shirts are, unfortunately, a no-no.
2  Pennsylvania / Pennsylvania: Southwest / Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh is getting....a zine library! on: October 03, 2004 05:33:39 AM
We've been working on it since the start of summer, and it's almost done. We received over 150 donations of zines and it's growing! Come check it out if you're in town. It's located in the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh's Teen Section.
It should definately be up by the end of the month--and is located right near the magazines and c.ds Smiley

If you have any questions or want to donate your zines, email me at [email protected]
3  Pennsylvania / Pennsylvania: Southwest / Best Stores in Pittsburgh on: September 12, 2004 10:13:26 AM
I love finding new stores that are tres cool in our city--whether they be record stores to coffee shops. List your favorites and you just might see me visiting em! Smiley

Here's my favorites:

-Brave New World Music Store[in Oakland, located near Groceria Merte or however you spell it]
-Slackers Everything Store[located right next to the Bee Hive on the Southside on E. Carson street]
-The BeeHive Coffee Shop[located in Southside on E. Carson street]
-Kiva Han Coffee Shop[located across the street from the museum in Oakland on the corner]
-Lulu's Noodles Chinese Restraunt [located on the same street as Kiva Han, best General Tso's chicken ever]
4  Pennsylvania / Pennsylvania: Southwest / Calling All Crafters---Pittsburgh on: September 12, 2004 10:05:49 AM
I just picked up this neon pink piece of paper at Kiva Han [coffee shop on the corner, by the musuem] and here's what it says:

NOV. 13, 2004
CONSTRUCTION JUNCTION, POINT BREEZE, PGH [round the corner from East End Food Co Op]

It's free, but if you want to sell your craft it's 15 dollars for table, space, and chairs and 7 dollars for selling mobile. Here's a website for more information http://www.handmadearcade.com

Come Come Come! It's free to get in and I think it'd be a really awesome place for craftsters to meet up Wink
5  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Help! Need advice on making something on: September 05, 2004 05:56:58 AM
I recently read an idea from someone in the Valentine Day forum about making a journal/notebook/whatever that was for her husband. It had the theme "Opps! I Forgot to Get My Wife a Gift!" and then she featured what she wanted, her favorite colors, favorite stores, etcetera. I want to duplicate the idea--but I have one problem.
I need a tutorial/suggestions/web-page link on how to make a journal/notebook/whatever [i dont really care as long as it has paper can is writable Smiley]. I want to find something that's relatively easy to make [under 30 minutes or so] and something cheap but can last at least a year or so. It doesn't matter how much paper is in it or how big it is.

Please help. I love this idea and really want to put it to use  Grin
