1  COOKING / Dessert / Cup Pies on: February 01, 2008 08:50:56 PM
So I'm not sure if there are any Pushing Daisies fans here, but for Valentine's Day I want to make cup pies. For those who don't know, they're cupcake sized pies (i.e. not tarts... we'll save that argument for another topic). Anyways, when baking the pies in a cupcake/muffin pan, should I use cupcake liners? I'm afraid that cooking spray won't make them come out when they're done but cupcake liners wont let them cook fully. Should I maybe invest in a cylicone (sp?) pan?
2  COOKING / Dessert / Royal Icing Questions on: December 27, 2007 11:40:28 PM
Which royal icing recipe have you found to be the best (as far as flavor, look, and texture)? If it is one that includes meringue powder, is that readily found in a typical grocery store? If it is one that includes egg whites, is there anything I can do to prevent salmonella (refrigeration?)? To avoid having to divide it up and add food coloring, could I brush the coloring on after it dries onto the cookie?

3  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / Making Fabric Glitter Glue on: December 27, 2007 09:48:02 PM
If I add glitter to textile medium, would it remain on a shirt through washing? Should I just stick to metallic paints?
4  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Using a Blog to Sell your Items on: December 27, 2007 08:08:20 PM
Does anybody use blogger or any sort of blog as their store? I plan to start with eBay just to see how much people would be willing to pay, but I would like to venture off into my own selling system (sans eBay and Etsy fees), and I think a blog would be a nice venue for this. And it would be easier than setting up my own website with my own domain.

5  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / Is it still recognizable? on: December 26, 2007 11:11:07 PM
Is the face of this great man still recognizable as a stencil?

I feel like he's been a bit abstracted. If you still can't tell who he is, the caption I want to put is "Barackin" or "Barockin".

And if anyone has a stencil of someone playing an electric guitar, could you send it my way. It doesn't matter who 'tis because the head will be changed.
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / TAGS! on: December 26, 2007 10:30:33 PM
So I've been making DIY clothing for all of my friends. I'd like to put personalized tags on shirts and such. I was thinking of either sewing a tag onto the inside or perhaps stenciling one on. Any ideas for materials if I were to sew one on? I'd be cool if I had an embroidery machine to make professional-looking ones.
7  CLOTHING / Shoes: Discussion and Questions / Lining Vans with Fur on: December 25, 2007 12:50:54 PM
Do you guys think it would be possible to line the inside of a pair of slip-on Vans with faux fur? Would this be difficult? What about chucks?
