1  makeup brush case (Big Pics) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Domitilla on: January 27, 2008 01:53:53 PM
I hope this is the right place

I made a very usefull case for my makeup brushes, I've got tons of them because I use mineral make up. Nothing particularly fancy, just plain black cotton with withe stitches and a with elastic to hold my brushes (I've got some more but can't find them, and my short-handed kabuki doesn't look good in this case, so it's not pictured Wink )
I've seen something similar here on craftster for crochet hooks and for pencils, so I don't want to take credit for the idea Wink

Back (it looks uneven because it's filled with brushes)

Comments and criticisms are welcome!

2  My dog 13th birthday cake! (with pics) in Dessert by Domitilla on: January 27, 2008 01:28:10 PM
OK, I don't know if it's exactly the right place to post it, but I don't know where to put it.

My dog turned 13 on January, 19th, so I decided to make a huuuuuuge party for him Wink ...in the end I just made him a *cake* and gave him a new ball Wink

The cake is basically pet food with dog bisquits I made my self and molded in a "13" shape, little sticks and balls.
The bisquits are made with eggs and flour, that's all, on the net there's a recipe (don't remember the link) with honey and malt too, but I didn't want to add all those sweet things.

So nothing special, but I wanted to share Wink
and he liked it!

3  my attempt at the spoon pendant in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by Domitilla on: January 10, 2008 03:47:40 AM
inspired by this topic https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=217771.0
so nothing original at all, but I found this so nice I suddenly wanted to make my own!
I don't have resin (never used it before, I wanted to give it a try but my craft shop will be closed for a couple of weeks)(poor poor poor me, without the craft shop Cheesy Cheesy ), so I used transparent fimo. It looks a bit opaque, but if you polish it with a couple of coats of UV-responsive nail polish (transparent polish it's ok too, but the UV responsive just looks better) it gets quite as shiny and transparent as resin (off course you must avoid making thick coats of it, or it'll get irremediably opaque)
The pink one with stars, hook and eye closure (ahah) and the owl (yes again!) designed by me is mine, while the one with monnalisa, gold glitters and little polyclay leaves is supposed to be given away as a gift to a friend of mine who helped me a lot with my first exam at university...but I like it soooo much!

It's not so easy to take pictures of them...grrrrrr... Embarrassed

I promise this is my last post for today Cheesy  this is my first (and last...damned exams!) free day, so I post my projects now that I have the time

5  some of my beads creations from the past years(dozens of pics) in Beads: Completed Projects by Domitilla on: January 10, 2008 02:52:23 AM
these are some of my creations made with beads in the past years, hope you like 'em!
All together:

A purple and black ring made with sort of swarosky beads

Victorian necklace with a very nice heart pendant

Victorian neck lace with a semiprecious hard stone of some sort (don't know what stone is it)...I love this one!

Victorian (yes again!) neck lace with stone leaves and very nice crystal beads

Sort of charm bracelet with green stones and a lot of beads and stuff of every kind (a nice way to use all that spared little beads)(I've been making dozens of them, I can post pictures if you're interested)

Purple necklace with amethyst and swarosky hearts

Thanks to my fabulous owl candle for modelling them for me Cheesy

6  Oh My Owl Felt Broach in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by Domitilla on: January 10, 2008 02:34:16 AM
Yes I'm obsessed with owls, and I'm proud of it Cheesy lol
BTW, this I a broach I recently made out of felt scraps. It's stuffed with something that used to be inside of a cushion (reusing to his max Wink ), the borders are sewed using an enormous needle and light purple wool (you can probably recognize it, it's from my previous scarf+hat project...this broach is intended to go on the scarf in order to match the owl applique on the beanie)
Hope you like it!

7  My first scarf ever! in Crochet: Completed Projects by Domitilla on: December 30, 2007 07:02:30 AM
this is the first time I actually finish a scarf, I usually crochet only round things (hats and similar) because I tend to make mistakes and "lose" stitches (don't know how to explain), so my scarves usually look horrible with zig zag borders Cheesy
This scarf matches a hat i previously posted here

with the matching hat:

hope you like it!

8  my shOwl in Crochet: Completed Projects by Domitilla on: December 30, 2007 06:50:36 AM
so....this is finally done!
I called this shOwl because of the picture of an owl I tried to crochet in the centre of this shawl. I used the Fillet technique (I don't know if this has the same name in English), and a very soft yarn in a vibrant purple, it is the biggest thing I've ever crocheted, and was made completely free hand, without any pattern ,and I'm in love with it!
it's actually pretty small, so I guess I should add a couple of rows all around it.
Comments are appreciated!

9  University of Bologna pencil case (nothing fancy ;) ) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Domitilla on: December 22, 2007 09:47:07 AM
So, here's my new pencil case Wink
It's made with a piece of fabric with the symbol of my university, the "alma mater studiorum" of Bologna, Italy. Nothing fancy, just a plain big pencil case with zipper Wink
Front (my camera acts like a mirror, so obviously letters are mirrored (does this word exist? Cheesy )
Back(the design on the fabric here it's upside-down, because I used only one piece fabric and folded it in order not to lose the entire symbol)
Inside detail, I used a raw fabric with flowers (with random stuff Cheesy )

10  Tons of hats!(with tons of pictures) in Crochet: Completed Projects by Domitilla on: December 22, 2007 03:41:32 AM
Added better pictures!Click to see them bigger

I there, I'm new in this beautiful community.
I'm producing tons and tons of hats, I don't know where to put them Cheesy , I think they're gonna eat me or kill me while sleeping ahaha :: I suppose i should give them away as gifts Wink
Let's start with pictures:
1)red\black and pink\...gray? light purple? mauve?, a strange color Cheesy I made them a year ago, they are very easy to do, but I never wear them.

2)I love this one!!! It's a light purple melange (I don't know if you use this word in English actually...ehm) beanie with ear flappers and a cute little felt owl on it (I'm crazy for owls...).I would wear it everytime, even at home...and yes, I look a little bit ridiculous while wearing it at home

and...action shot (I look terrible...sorry...)

3)This one came out sort of vintage style. It's a red beanie with ear flaps and a cute little ribbon (it's gros grain, don't know if this kind of material as a different name in English, sorry).

Sorry for bad English, I'm Italian Wink

edit:Ohps...my pictures are a little bit small...ehm...I'll resize them as soon as I can
