31  Re: OTT 20 Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by zatanna on: January 27, 2009 09:02:15 AM

I received from nikimac, hoorays! First thing I opened was a tin, which took me awhile to figure out how to open it and my bf made fun of me hah. It has my user name on one side and my Craftster name on the other.

Inside were magnets to represent most of my themes, with Meatwad subbing in for black (correct me if I am wrong, nikimac), so she gets bonus awesome points for using many themes.

Thanks again, my kitchen is a much happier place now!  Grin

32  Re: Small Destash Swap ( Send out Feb 2) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by zatanna on: January 17, 2009 09:29:12 AM
I sadly added to my stash this week, and felt all guilty when I thought of this swap. I just can't resist the big ziplock bags stuffed with bits of ribbon and trim that they sell at Hobby Lobby for $5.99. Here is the loot:

I just love the randomness of hot pink harlequin, Hello Kitty, mini ribbon rosettes, turquiose velvet, etc. all mixed together in a crazed jumble (with a 12 foot long dash of acid green sequins to add a bit of flava)!

I am not kidding, the acid green sequin trim is well over twice my height. I have no clue what I am going to do with it, other than admire it!

33  Re: RPG Swap - Dice Not Mice Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by zatanna on: January 02, 2009 08:45:43 AM
Hi! I think I have recovered enough from New Years to post pictures, hehe! I received from the talented kitkat_pro, who made some fantastic items!

First we have a lovely scroll case to carry my character sheets. The gold is really pretty on it, and I am glad the camera was able to capture that part!

Next, we have a shirt for my boyfriend (who is not pictured hehe). It says 'go kiss an orc' in elvish, which cracked me up hehe.

Next, we have a pair of gloves that are made from a soft, dusty/mossy green suede like material. I know kitkat_pro was having some pain in her hands while crafting, so I appreciate the effort she put into these very much! I can not even imagine sewing all those tiny little curves and stuff!

Then we have a huuuuge stack of cards with amusing, mainly gaming related cat memes. They are so cute. I am displaying my fave kitty-being-attacked-by-carrion-crawler card, but I love them all. These are awesome because I didn't list it, but I did want some cards to be able to send with swaps, and now I have some (I will note on the back who made them though, of course!).

Next and pictured together, we have a cool d20 dice tray (needed with the cat menaces around) and some nifty D+D crocheted coasters, which are made with really pretty cream yarn.

Finally, we have an awesome bag! It is made of the same material as the gloves, and then a tan colored material inside. It's soft and perfectly sized to tote some books. I have a long shot of it, because I am in love with the looooong strap it has. I often have to carry 2 bags, so now I can have them on separate levels and not crunching all together at elbow level heh.

Thanks again, kitkat_pro, you are awesome! And also, thanks again to Aislynn for hosting for us, you have done a wonderful job!

Hi guys!

Kitkat_pro received awhile back but can't find her camera, so I offered to post some pix! Not a lot of detail, 'cause I did a few items in each picture. Also, not pictured, is the gelatinous cube soap. Basically, I did a soap pour into a cube shaped mold and then sunk a d&d mini into it so it looked like it had eaten a victim, MUAH!

I made some etched wine glasses. There are 2 with weapons and the initials of kitkat_pro and her husband, and then 1 dragon and 1 wizard.

To go along with these, I made some alchemical potion wine charms. The picture I have is kinda blurry. 1 has a captured ghost, 1 has feathers and a mini owl, 1 is anise seed/bark/naturey, and one is a skeleton hand in fake blood. Also in this picture is the wire-wrapped die keychain I made.

I also made a beholder magnet. For some reason I decided to make a girly one with makeup, etc featuring copious amounts of googley eyes. I also painted a dice bag. It's reallllly hard to photograph, but it's a bronze paint on burgundy velvet and I tried to make it distressed looking..it's neater looking irl for sure hehe. I did a tree because my partner really likes trees! I also made the wire-wrapped 8-sided die fob on it.

Finally, I made a shirt representing her fave char, which is a gnome npc that tries to find cooking purposes for all spells, and is part of an underground gnome group called the Holy Gnomish Empire. And no, it's not all splotchy, it's glitter paint so it photographs a little funny! Smiley

35  Re: Mini holiday Swap Round 2 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by zatanna on: December 27, 2008 08:00:50 AM
And I got my package from Edenkitty last week! Hooray! Unfortunately it arrived the day after I left for the holidays for a week, but it was a fantastic little surprise after a loooooong day of traveling.
(Sorry some pix are kinda blurry, not sure why the camera is being funny)

First are these great little cinnamon dough ornaments. I am actually thinking of putting in my closet, bathroom, etc, since they smell so awesome!

Second, a really cool little glass and some metal christmas tree. I like that it's kinda abstract. Not sure if I want to put it on the tree or convert it to a pin, so torn!

Third, I put these two things together to illustrate a point! It's a 'green sleeve' for paper coffee cups and a cute pendant necklace made from a recycled Jack Daniels bottle (how did you know what I did for Xmas?!?!? Wink). Edenkitty does some very cool work on environmentally friendly, functional, AND great looking crafts, so kudos to her!

Finally, a really gorgeous pendant necklace. The camera does not do any justice whatsoever to how glimmery it is, and it works really well with my general style of dress. Even my bf, who sometimes looks at my swap stuff like..uh...ok...was hey...that's pretty cool!

Thanks again for being such an awesome swap partner, Edenkitty, and thanks again for organizing, SundayAfternoonHousewife!

I received from Zatanna earlier this week, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM!

I am desperate to find my camera now, but I can give a description!!!!

You know those awesome melty "perler" beads? Well she made me these awesome framed pieces... That are all mario themed! A turtle in with antlers, and mario as santa! Add in a tree and you have yourself a holly jolly mario christmas! There was also an invincibility star with a santa hat on on the package! They are proudly displayed with our holiday cards and are now guarding the cookies that have piled up there!

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I love them! I can't wait till she gets my package! Well I hope to find the camera soon (I just hope it's not frozen in the snow somewhere) so I can get some pictures of it all up for you.

I am glad you liked them! I can put up a picture I have if that helps (I know it's a crazy time of year and all!).

I found some patterns online for the Rudolph Koopa, Santa Mario, and the tree. After making them, I just bought some picture frames, removed the glass, attached felt to the back and then glued the figures on. I thought it would be a cute holiday decoration for someone that likes retro video games! The star ornament was easy, just took the normal star pattern and colored his top point red and white! :p

Okay, so I was trying to get actions shots and my bf was promising to take them, but my nagging has had no effect, so I am just having to post static shots!  Cry

First! An awesome Nightwing cheesecake shot with matching 'keyhole' magnet. Sorry ladies, I had to put the magnet over all the relevant parts, bc that is MY Dick!  Wink (oOo I am so bad! Ha)

Second! My very own official FORMAL whip for when I want to go all Selina on someone while wanting to still look glamourous. It's made of very soft leather and fur and is bejeweled, and it matches original Catwoman colors! I have a feeling this one will be out and about for this upcoming Halloween. This is a sign to make a Catwoman classic costume with the  purple dress.  Grin

Third! This one really cracked me up but also impressed me with the workmanship. It's a beer holster, precisely what I needed for my housewarming party I am going to have soonish! It features my fave Black Canary and her man. The coolest part is the fishnets..not entirely as clear as I wanted to get it in pictures, but it's all individually threaded on. How cool is that?!

Finally, a very awesome Oracle phone holster. As you can see, my phone gets thrown around a lot. Now I have a direct link to the top technophile chica in the world! It's detailed on all sides with the circuitry motif, and the work on it is really amazing and detailed. This one I have gotten to tote around with me and get the appropriate OooOs and AhHhsss! Smiley

Thanks again, JustinKase. Your work is really fantastic, and thoughtful, too! I will get your package to you post haste!

38  Fullmetal Alchemist goblets in Glass Crafts: Completed Projects by zatanna on: July 17, 2008 08:50:57 PM
Hi all!

This is nothing too special, but I was pretty happy with it. I had given up the armor etch after a disastrous experience with it in my very first swap, but I decided to grab the bottle one more time and try it out. I was pretty happy with how it turned out. I printed the logos out on paper and then cut it out on contact paper and then etched it. I had tried the puffy paint method before, but my hand is just too unsteady to do that, so the contact paper method worked better for me.

I made these in an angel package for the adult swim swap.

I did an angel package for starryeyeddiy. I know she is kinda busy so I thought I would post. Smiley

First, one of her faves was Master Shake, so I did a black-on-black Master Shake fitted tee from Target:

Second, I made some Fullmetal Alchemist logo goblets with armor etch, so the logos are etched into the glass. These are always hard to make show up, but this is the best pic I could get!

Finally, she listed 'the robot that humps washing machines' as a fave character and that she wanted some living room gear, so, ta da = the robot humpin' pillow! The embellishments are basically felt and a plush heart.

I received from hheever, hoorays! She not only made the cozies, but also made them washable (which is good, I spill a lot haha!). The purpleish one is esp. great because I have the one travel mug with a purple lid that has an ugly car dealership logo on it, and now it's all cute instead.  Cheesy Also, the tea smells so good I put a bag in my closet tee hee!

Thanks again, hheever!
