2  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Kitty cat hat, with super pom poms! on: March 27, 2009 09:09:10 AM
I wish it was colder in Austin.  I would have a chance to sport my newest creation!!

First, before the ears.  Looks normal and non-threatening.

Then I add the ears and tadaaaaa!  Kitty cat hat!

My cat was my inspiration.  She helped me thru it giving support and meows.

5  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / beautiful yarn - but too small to crochet? on: January 14, 2009 10:04:36 AM
I bought this amazing yarn called Vickie Howell's vegas yarn.  Here is the specs on it:

Brand: Vickie Howell
Yarn Name: Vegas
Fiber Content: Wool Blend
Ball Weight: 50g
Yardage: 109 yds.
Texture: Metallic
Yarn Weight: Worsted
Gauge: 20
(Stitches per 4.0 inches/10cm.)
Needle Sizes: 8 U.S. (5mm)
Care: Hand Wash & Dry Flat.

I CANNOT for the life of me, find a crochet pattern to use for this kind of yarn.  Everything I have found online is for knitting.  Anyone know where I should look to find a similar hat pattern?
6  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / these instructions mean....? on: February 25, 2008 06:02:25 PM
"ch. 3, make 1 sc in the next ch2 space."
"(Ch. 4, make 1 sc)  twice into the next ch.4 space.

my confusion is the chain space description.  for example...do i make a sc in the next  stitches?  is that a ch2 space?  or is it in the actual chain i made from the ch. 3 part?

so confusing!
7  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / my anti-valentine hat on: February 12, 2008 07:57:46 PM
it's your average peppermint pink cloche with attitude.  black stars!  no hearts.

8  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / boring ponytail holders got you down? put a flower on em! on: February 09, 2008 11:51:56 AM
i was getting tired of my black stretchy ponytail holders so i decided to make them a bit more hip.

i used this pattern: http://charlenep7.tripod.com/crochetbycharlene/id12.html (the first one shown)

then i added a nifty button i had been saving for something cool and tada!!  new ponytail holder.  took 15 minutes top.

9  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / i'm confused by these instructions.... on: February 06, 2008 06:32:42 PM
"1. In ring: ch3 (counts as first dc and ch 1), *dc ch 1* 4 times, slip to first ch space, ch 1 (5 dcs 5 ch spaces)"

ok am i supposed to already have my ring created?  where am i doing these chains?  in my ring or outside the ring?
