21  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Screen Printing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Crisis on Campus! on: September 26, 2007 07:10:33 PM
It is, but we need shipping to be timely and if things don't work, we can't just stop by the store to get a refund and/or a better product. We've been hearing various ways of doing it from people. I've done it with the mod podge before, but someone said it might be too messy and a pain if we wanted to do it several times over.

One of my clubs, Students for Social Change, is planning on silk screening (or something like it) t-shirts on the quad (a glorified piece of grass on campus), but we're running into loads of problems.

We go to school in a small town with no craft store. Wal-Mart is the main source for most things, but we're avoiding Wal-Mart because it doesn't do a whole lot for social change. (We couldn't even find Mod Podge anywhere, much less any sort of fabric paint.) So we're at a dead end. We have old curtains that we can use for screens and huge embroidery hoops for the frames, but we need the emulsion stuff and the paint. If anyone has any ideas (if stencilling would be easier, we're open to suggestions) I would LOVE to hear them! Changing the world is hard!

Thanks so much!

But I like the smudges! They give it a certain je ne sais quoi that screams "I'm an awesome craftster!!!!!!!!!!!"

That's fabulous! I hope he wears it all the time to show off your mad skills.

The sororities still live in Brewer, but I think their making BNB coed next year, so I'm not sure where the sororities are going. They were so loud! I wish we had thrown water balloons or something at them!

I learned to knit in Nason, though! My roommate taught the rest of our room and we'd watched movies and knit on the weekends. Sounds kind of lame, but I'm sure craftsters understand how fun that could be!

I agree with the first post...the black hole towards the crotch is amazing and threatening.

I did a less organized version of that in high school. A few of my friends and I would draw on my jeans during class, lunch, or whenever. It led to some very interesting pants, but nowhere near as neat as yours.

I love them! I've been thinking about making some for a belly dance show; a tutorial (or even just an idea about how you did it) would be great!

I agree with everyone else (except your bf)--the dress is beautiful and it'd be a crime to cut it. Can't wait for pictures!!

Maybe they could be worn in a club under a mesh shirt?

Oh, and the models (and the pasties of course) are beautiful. I'm green with envy as usual...
