1  Key Ring Plaque with 3 emblems (4 pics) in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by gumpsgirl on: November 03, 2011 06:56:29 PM
I have created this Key Ring Plaque, but it is not complete.  As usual, I am not saavy with a camera and could not get a good picture.  I have not put the hardware for the keys on yet.  Also, I'm not sure how to finish the edging.  Right now, it is just the plain wood.  I was thinking of painting the edging white.

Any opinions, good or bad would be appreciated.

Thank you!

2  Fishing Boat Tile Coasters (3 pics) in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by gumpsgirl on: November 02, 2011 07:17:56 PM
Here is another set of coasters that I have free hand painted.  I am having a hard time getting a good picture that shows the richness in the color, but hopefully you get the idea.  They look much brighter/better in person.

Any good or bad advice would be advisable.  I am going to sell these for approximately $25/set.  They are one of a kind and hand painted, so I am hoping the price seems justified.  Please give me your feedback, good or bad.

Thank you

3  Night Time Camping Tile Coasters (5 pics) in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by gumpsgirl on: November 02, 2011 07:06:06 PM
I painted these 4 tiles for my company I have started.  I would love any feedback, good or bad.  I of course think they look nice, but your opinions matter most when it comes to selling them.

I am doing both freestyle painted as well as decoupage and other mediums.

Thank you for looking.

4  UnderWater Arrangements Bridal Shower in Weddings and Bridal Showers by gumpsgirl on: August 01, 2008 09:10:14 PM
Here is the jist of the evening from my other post:  https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=260859.0

I didn't have money for any flowers or anything, so I thought outside the box.  I already had some glass vases, the bride's mom gave me some, and I only purchased a couple of them.  I then collected all kinds of weeds, flowers, sticks, etc. and created nature themed underwater arrangements.

I was offered a side job within a week (a year away though) and asked to start my own business so that I can do this more often.  The owner of the property I rented (his wife too) couldn't stop talking about them.

I have surprised myself so much with this bridal shower.  Before the shower, I was the one that admired and dreamed of doing the things that people do on this website.  I can't believe I have something I feel is worth sharing.

Thanks for looking

5  Succulent Bridal Shower Party Favors in Weddings and Bridal Showers by gumpsgirl on: August 01, 2008 08:41:42 PM
I hosted a bridal shower for my friend a few weeks ago.  The party was a wine tasting party, in a very old house/bed & breakfast historical farm on the water.  It was an amazing setting.  The party favors that I came up with was to give out succulent plants, mini terrariums if you will in a wine glass.  I figured they are the easiest plants to take care of, as long as you give them good dirt.  So after consulting stormthecastle.com (just found it via google search and emailed the guy), I was able to get the right layers of medium to plant the succulents in.  He now has directions and links to my photos on his site.

I also had left over plants and planted them in my sea shells with the same "dirt".

I then used an oil marker to write the names of the bride and groom, with a heart in the middle of them.  I then painted the heart red with glass paint.  It looks very good.  I have never done anything like this before, and quite frankly i have completely set myself aback.  I am gaining a lot more confidence that I can do anything I set myself up for!

I also did these water arrangements, but I will post those on another link.  I'll just say, I am starting a side business and may possibly be doing a wedding in the next year already.

I figured this was so easy, and such a great hit, I knew it would be nice of me to share the idea.

Thanks for looking

I'm not too big into photography, but this is one of my favorites.

7  Coat Rack Painting - 1st Craft Post - in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by gumpsgirl on: January 07, 2008 08:46:28 AM
I want to thank everyone on this site.  It has been years since I have used my artistic talents in any way.  Thank you for your inspiration.  This website has saved my soul.

Moving right along...

I had a 6" wide x 36" (+/-) long furniture grade pine (?) board.  I had coat hooks.  I needed a coat rack somewhat bad.  Living in a split foyer, storage is of the essence.

Ta Dah!  In Da Country! Coat rack

Enjoy, and please don't be afraid to give me advice.  I am not a good painter.

8  Dr. Seuss Baby Mural in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by gumpsgirl on: December 27, 2007 06:51:35 AM
My son is now 17 months old, but I figured I would share to inspire others.  I don't know if you would call it a mural, but I definitely wanted a uniform feel to the room, and not just a bunch of characters thrown on the walls.

I'm new to this site, and am finding inspriration and ideas from all over!

Thank you for having me...
