1  Re: Snack Swap 4 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Transatlanticism on: July 23, 2011 10:08:44 PM
Posting pictures of my amazing package of Philippino goodies from zzdia a million years later thanks to my hectic work scheduale and general ditziness  Roll Eyes

Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of the package before I opened it, because I tore it open in the car in the post office parking lot in my excitement haha.

But anyways, here's a group shot of all the amazing snacks! My eyes popped out of my head upon seeing all these because they looked amazing and I'd never had any of them before!

The snacks: Marty's Cracklings, macapario tarts, mejii choco baby, mejii coffee beat, luck cappuccino cream, pocky almond crunch, choc nut, chocolate chip cookies, pili nuts, duran yema, pastillas, tablea (for hot chocolate!!! perfect for cold Minnesota nights), polvoron, and cheese piatos!!

I've been trying to not pig out, but I've tried most of the sweets already! My favorite is the cappuccino cream lucky and the polvoron (there was a sampler of different flavors and the cookies and cream one is aces!!)

Here are lovely crafts!

She made me the prettiest recycled envelopes from a paper bag inspired by the envelopes on my wists, plus a cute little jar of Wreck This Journal prompts she found online. Sorry for the crummy picture, you can't see that the little jar also has little origami stars in it! I love the crafts-- so much inspiration to write letters from the envelopes and the prompts will keep me busy too!

Thanks so much (as I munch on a macapario tart--- so good!! Wink)

Here's what I got in my amazing package from Puzzler!

My favorite is this shirt she made me with Amelie on it (perfect likeness, SUPER cute). I love this color yellow too, it fits with the mood of Amelie.  It's really long on me (I never know whether I'll be a small or medium, it really depends on the cut) , but I love the size it is because I can wear it as a shirt dress with leggings-- here's an action shot of me wearing it with a skirt (ignore the strange expression on my face haha)

Here's the rest of my goodies-- a Frida inspired apron (I love this print, and it's perfect for my two favorite-- and messiest-- crafts: painting and baking!), a Ghost World Pin Cushion with a great quote from the movie (Rebecca: This is so bad, it's good. Enid: This is so bad it's gone past good and back to bad again). Love it! One of the lines is on each side of the cushion. Last is the super cute Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind keychain with a picture from the movie on the front and a quote on the back (it wouldn't photograph well but it says "Joel: I can't remember anything without you. Clem: That's sweet, but try") LOVE it! And I needed a new keychain because mine was worse for wear.  Smiley

Thanks so much for the amazing package, Puzzler!!! I love everything, and I'm glad you enjoyed my movies!

I love seeing all the LV's at the end of the summer with all their memories! It was so nice to see Walter again, and very apparent that he had a super-busy, super-awesome summer! His scrapbook has so-so many pictures, and is adorable. Plus, he brought back so many mementos and some incredible treats for me as well! Oops Creations went all out-- she crafted me a perfect grocery tote, a felted hat and this really cute mouse-pad with Walter on it!! Thanks!!! And thanks to our fabulous organizers!
Without further ado-- pictures!

All the swag together on my ugly dorm couch! Sorry it's so blurry the lighting in here is bad but the flash was glare-y  Undecided

Om nom nom!

More close ups! Check out that Walter-ific likeness!

The color looks weird here-- it's actually navy-- but here's the cute little jersey bag she sewed that I can fit in my purse and use for groceries, or use to take things to class!

Thanks so much, Oops Creations! I'm glad Linus got home okay!

Oh I love this swap! Mamaphunk crafted me a beautiful Frida shrine ( I am totally in love with her; I even have a quote of hers in her handwriting tattooed on my feet). I love the little worry dolls inside-- she even stuck in an extra one for me that wasn't in the shrine!! And the shrine is in this beautiful frame that she painted, the picture doesn't do the detail justice. Hookay enough praise... I'll let the pictures do the talking.

My Fail at a group shot because the gorgeous flower pin (I love putting colorful pins like this one onto my coat-- just my taste!) was being sneaky and hiding in the box. But by the time I realized this error, I had already opened the Semaforos to indulge my sweet tooth Cheesy so I couldn't redo the group shot! But anyways....

Here's a close up that shows you the incredibly cute charm she made-- note the unibrow! Love love love it! Plus its worry doll pal.

And here's a closeup of the shrine. Unfortunately there's a glare from the flash, but without it it was blurrskies. I tried. Check out the winged flower!

Here's a shot that has the pretty flower pin!

Thanks so much Mamaphunk!

I don't even have words for how awesome that whole package is.  I am totally in love with the altered heart tin and all the wonderful Alice cards.  Now I have some serious anxiety about what I sent off!

Oh no, you really shouldn't have worried! Everything you made me is darling, and there are so many wonderful things! I am a totally accessory whore, and you made me so much adorable Alice jewelry I died of happiness. I was really impressed because you had so many cool ideas!
The painting the roses red pens are super super fun, I'm having a lot of fun using them. And the little clear thing with the illustrations-- are those transfers? I love that you sent me some stuff to craft with. I think I'll make the fabric you wrapped the jewelry in to make a little pillow. I also love how brave you were to send a teapot and teacup through the mail-- they are adorable, and miraculously the dainty little cup survived the trip. How did you know I have a thing for mixmatched kitschy dishware? I was truly spoilt... on with the pictures!

Here's the group shot, minus the shirt, because I'm wearing it  Cheesy

Here's the fantastic embroidery she did, it's displayed on the headboard in my room now. I love the way she did the grin!

Detail shot of a drink me necklace in a Cheshire Cat tin and charm bracelet

Adorable drink me charm, love the shrinky dink label(I'm going to put it on a chain!), painting the roses red hair clips, white rabbit charm

Transfers(?) and the little cake, one of my personal favorites. I'm going to put it on my keychain!

Feeding my earring addiction! Love the teacup and tea kettle ones, so charming. Haha get it, charming?

Charm Bracelet in action

The amazing shirt! I wish my silkscreening skillz were this good. I am ashamed to say I got some in October, and still am really bad at it. The little sillhoutte is so cute, I just got a close up shot so you could see it well.

Ha I went a little crazy with the pictures, but I love everything so much! Now I just needa finish my package, I wish I was this prolific.

Here's an action shot with the scoodie! I love the colours she used! This is going to make winter sooo much more fun

She also made me a cute lil pouch!~.. it had chocolate in it at one point Cheesy

Thanks so much elociNnicole!!!

Here's a shot of the paint brush roll Swickered sent me! I'm so excited to use it and the fabric you used is just my taste!

Here's a shot of it rolled up plus the other goodies she included: some fabric paint and collage-y stuff for my projects! I love those leaves, I'm going to have a lot of fun with those for sure! Speaking of leaves, there's also some tea that looks super good. And some chocolate too (but not pictured, I'm too busy munching on it haha)

Thank you thank you thank youuu!

9  Fantastic Garage Sale Fabric... but weird shape! in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by Transatlanticism on: June 11, 2009 07:20:41 PM
So I scored this lovely Ziggy fabric at a garage sale, and it really wants to be a skirt. Problem is, it's used and has triangles cut out of it all the way down. How would I go about making this work for a skirt?

And I love the stripes, aren't those colours great?

And here's a picture of it all on my bed so you can see how long it is.

So, craftsters, help me with a solution? Thanks in advance! Smiley
