You could make lanyards out of those.  I think I will get  some airplane maps and make myself a airplane lanyard for my badge.  I work for an airline.

I save all lids for a co-worker and she volunteers with some kind of school group that used all lids for school projects.  I wish I knew more about it.  Check with your school districts.
15  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / Where To Find Things To Recycle / Re: Looking for those tiny airplane bottles on: January 19, 2009 04:37:26 PM
Walgreens sells them pretty cheaply.  On the aircraft they sell for $5 to $7 dollars.  You cannot take them off full.  You can always ask the Flight Attendant for the emptys.

Stuff it in toliet paper rolls (cardboard) for fire starters for your camping buddies or those with home fireplaces

I read somewhere that you can stuff them with dryer lint and use them for fire starters in your fireplace.

I did not read all the posts on this topic - I am brand new to this site.  I am a flight attendant with a major airline.  and fly mostly domestic.  I have always seen all types of knitting needles onboard (I do wonder why they allow them - as they are a great weapon -  But who knows with the TSA! Shocked)  I take long metal ones a lot.  I also use the Knifty knitter to make hats & such while I am gone.  Also take the little fold up clippers to cut your yarn and thread.  I also take regular needles for needlepoint.  You can always take children's scissors with rounded ends.  Just take them out of your bag and show the TSA before you go through the detector.  Some locations are stricter than others.  I got my folded scissors taken away one morning going though Las Vegas.   Huh  It also depends on the individual agent that checks the bags.

Anyway this is a neat site and I am already getting some great ideas.
