I've always wanted to go in a stuffed animal/doll swap and there hasn't been one for awhile. Would anyone go in this if I organized it? The send out date wouldn't be until the end of feb/begninning of March because I have a bunch of other swaps I'm in.  Cheesy Let me know!
12  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Polka-Dot Jordy and a Wacky Messenger Bag on: January 24, 2005 04:03:25 PM
So, I got my first commission over christmas for a purse. She said she wanted something "Punk like but cool with a plaid checkered thing." So I combined a textured upolstery fabric with some gingham, polka-dots and tulle and volia una purse-a. I had to had paint the button black because it turned a funny purple some how.

Here is my messenger bag I made with the Messenger Bad tutorial at the top of purse page. It's made out of this quilty type fabric. It has a bumpy sort of texture. There are 2 credit card slots on the front pocket and 2 other ones to fit books. There are pen slots on the inside with a calculator pocket (Woo hoo. Nerds unite! Cheesy) and a zippered pocket for lip balm and my French horn mouthpiece. (Band Nerds unite! Haha.)
I use it daily!

13  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Feeling Stupid.... on: January 12, 2005 02:36:10 PM
Arrrg. Ok So new to knitting and a feel really stupid asking this question but I'm completely perplexed. When you just do regular garter stitches you "turn" your needle when you get to the end (Make the right one the left and the left one the right) Correct? Then if you are doing purl stitches you can't flip it.... or am I wrong... I'm just confused. Otherwise if you left it wouldn't you have to knit it off the right needle? Could someone explain this to me?
14  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Crafty Charitable/Social Causes / Crafters For Disasters on: December 30, 2004 08:57:20 AM
Because of the recent earthquake/tsunami in India and Indonesia, I thought that we should craft for a cause.  I was thinking of some crafters makings some items and selling them with a portion to go towards helping the victims.  I am making Clutchs and selling them for $10 including shipping and $6 from each clutch sold will go to the red cross to help. If anyone would be interested in buying or helping the website is http://craftersfordisasters.tripod.com
15  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Old 45s Record Clutch on: December 22, 2004 01:24:00 PM
I was digging through my basement yesterday and found some old 45s (along with a shoe used for my other purse) I thought. "hey wouldn't that make a cool purse?" So with no pattern I came up with a clutch that wasn't really supposed to be a clutch but it is.  Cheesy Also, I so proud of myself that I figured out how to to the zipper part and also that my sewing machine didn't try and eat the zipper.  Grin I used a only Disney Land Record called Lambert the sheepish Lion and a charlie bronwn's all-stars record. Here are some pictures so You can see how it was assembled and other stuff. (Actually, I just really like taking pictures  Wink )

Thanks for looking!  Cheesy Sorry my bandwith is used up. It will be re-instated on the 4th.
16  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / These shoes were made for... Purses? on: December 21, 2004 08:03:30 PM
**Sorry my bandwidth is out until the 4th. if you right click on a "picture" and click on properties it will give you the url to check them out**

After seeing those purses that are have a shoe shape, (Hopefully you know what I'm talking about. The purses that have a high-heeled boot built in or something like that)(Here is a website I found that makes simmilar things for $125!!  http://www.tias.com/stores/lisamoo/ I figured I wanted one for myself after seeing how cool they were. So I found a broken high-heeled shoe in my basement and went to work. I made a jordybag without the bottom and I cut the top part of the shoe off. Then I used some hot glue with a mix of E6000 and went to town. The end result was this.

 front detail with cherry ribbon.

Modeling  Cheesy

Now this used to be a duck slipper but I though. "Oh how cute would this be as a purse" So I hand sewed a zipper on it and attached 2 straps made out of soccer socks. Volia.

Thanks for looking everyone! Grin

18  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Purse Extravaganza!!!!! [Image heavy] on: December 09, 2004 06:18:27 PM
I put all my project up at once so that is why there are so many! Also you'll notice I love telling people about my fabric bargins so just skip over that part if you want... I get carried away sometimes..  Cheesy

The first one is a purple "Rounder roomy bag" for my friend for Christmas. The outer fabric was a tablecloth I got at wal-mart for $2. I love bargins!

Here's the inside. You can't tell from the picture but it has darker purple checks.

This is a brown corduroy (Which I got for .41 cents *wal-mart*) "Jordy bag" I modifyed it so it was a little skinner to hold my english book nicely.  Grin

Inisde with zipper where my sewing machine attempted to eat the zipper. The little pink button is a hippo to match the fuzzy beige paw print on the front.

Striped "Jordy bag" I made for my friend for christmas. I got the outer fabric at Dollarama (Pillowcase) And the inside is orange with tiny gold flecks which was another wal-mart buy. The button is a little yellow and orange flower.

This one is an alien "Jordy bag" That is larger than the normal jordy bag. I got the outer fabric at Dollarama (Again a pillowcase) And the inner fabric is a coral colour I got at Wal-mart. The button is a googly eye button which I love.

19  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / A tote bag and a Cd case..... [Image Heavy] on: November 11, 2004 01:25:55 PM
Ok kids, now go easy on me. These were my first 2 sewing projects and I'm sorry for the gigantic pictures.

This tote was made from a Canada EH! Shirt that was 2 sizes too big. Yay canada!

Inside of Tote with small lip balm.  Cheesy

This is a cd case for my friend Sam. Her cd player was always getting banged around so I made this out of and old purple fleece sweatshirt. I lined it with the leftovers from the Canad tote by invented my own way to line things (Doesn't work the best  Tongue) and I sewed to velcro closures with 2 buttons for decoration.

With my cd player...

Thanks for looking!
