21  shrimp sushi bag - link to pattern for the shrimp in Knitting: Completed Projects by ax174 on: January 11, 2007 11:30:10 AM

I made this felted shrimp sushi bag for the Bag Challenge, but didn't make the deadline.  The pattern for the shrimp piece, which is actually an outer pocket, is here, if anyone's interested.

22  Knitted and Felted Shrimp Sushi Bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by ax174 on: January 07, 2007 09:53:14 AM
This was supposed to be my entry in the Bag Challenge, except that I didn't make the deadline.  I finished it yesterday, but wasn't able to felt it until today.   Sad

More pics and info here at my blog.

23  knitted heart from Knit.1 magazine in Knitting: Completed Projects by ax174 on: December 31, 2006 07:23:32 PM
The pink heart muscle itself is about 8 inches tall.  With the blood vessels, it's about double that height.

This is the photo from the Knit.1 magazine (Winter 06-07 "Love issue").  My early WIP is covering some of the layout.

This WIP photo shows the actual colours better.

A quick knit, and a fun gift for the medical-type person in your life.  Grin

24  doll purse from Andean Folk Knits in Knitting: Completed Projects by ax174 on: November 16, 2006 07:21:09 AM

The opening of the purse is at the back.

More FO pics here.
WIP pics here and here.

The pattern is from the same book as the llama purse and fish purse, Andean Folk Knits by Marcia Lewandowski.

25  fish purse from Andean Folk Knits in Knitting: Completed Projects by ax174 on: November 09, 2006 06:01:10 AM
After completing the llama purse from the book Andean Folk Knits by Marcia Lewandowski, I made this, from the same book:

More FO pics here.
WIP pics here.

It's a fun book and the items are well designed.  If you're into making small things, this book is for you.   Smiley

26  llama purse from Andean Folk Knits in Knitting: Completed Projects by ax174 on: October 31, 2006 08:08:46 AM

All done except for the strap.  The legs are small pouches called "unas" which are commonly found on Andean bags.

WIP pictures here.

More FO pics and sparse notes here.

If you like to knit small things in the round with little or no seaming, then I can't recommend this book enough: Andean Folk Knits by Marcia Lewandowski.   The llama purse was an absolute joy to knit.

Has anyone else made anything from this book? I'd love to see the FO if so.   Smiley

EDIT: all done, with strap.

28  Re: Star Baby Blanket~Along in Crochetalongs by ax174 on: October 04, 2006 06:17:39 PM
After browsing this thread and seeing all the fabulous blankets, I had to try making one of my own.  Not the greatest pics, but here's how it turned out:

WIP

Finished and blocking.  The pill bottle, in which I store my blocking pins, will give you an idea of the size.

I used Bernat Cottontots (100% machine-washable cotton, because it's a stroller blanket for someone who's expecting), and a 5.00mm hook.  The colours are Berry Blue, Grape Berry and Lime.

29  Re: Punk Rock Backpack in Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller by ax174 on: September 15, 2006 03:38:05 PM

I made this a few years ago, before I got my digital camera, so never photographed it.  Well, that's taken care of now.  Smiley

The zipper pull is a shrinky-dink banana.

I posted about these planes before, but I've finally written up the
