2  Garden Bench Re-Do in Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Completed Projects by sugarm0mma on: April 20, 2008 07:25:02 PM
Hi, I just finished redoing a little rustic-y garden bench I bought years ago. I had repainted it when I bought it but it's an outside piece so it got very worn and not in the cute way. I did it all free hand so it's not perfect lines but I'm very happy with how it turned out. Now I have to repaint the porch, as you can see  Grin Buffalo's winters are pretty hard on paint. Lemme know what you think.

I still need to get a pic of the cool hanging organizer, it needs to hang for a bit and unwrinkle. Thank you soooo much Kiwi, oh the candy's gone, the stickers(Scooby is an all time fav around here) have been stuck and the cute bunnies mysteriously ended up on Freddi's purse, hmmm lol Thanks again

5  Re: Some charcoals in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by sugarm0mma on: March 22, 2008 01:13:37 PM
Thanks, I miss the first one, her expression was what made me love the picture, that and her satin dress had great depth. The 2nd one is in my dining room and it gives the kids the hebbie jeebies, it has that eyes following you feeling to it, plus it's huge!! lol thanks for the nice replies I'm always so nervous when i show my work.  Smiley
I really like drastic lighting in my stuff, I guess that's why I like doing charcoals. this one is a painting, again the pic quality sort of stinks.

6  Some charcoals in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by sugarm0mma on: March 22, 2008 12:38:47 AM
Hi I'm too sure what to say, theses are two very large charcoals I did a while ago. The first one is from an old Life Magazine article about the Savoy. It's 6'x6' paper mounted on board, I sold it and still regret it.

This one is 5'x3' I saw this portrait in a book about opera. Sorry the picture quality is a bit weird. I tried to lighten it some,it's very dark, and to get a decent pic I had to zoom in so the scale is off . It's also charcoal on paper mounted to wood.

8  Re: Fireplace mantle--something's missing in Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions by sugarm0mma on: March 05, 2008 07:40:02 AM
absolutely! cala lilies in a dramatic vase would look excellent opposite your Jeune fille en vert print. You could try reproduction Fiestaware, a whole lot more affordable than the original stuff and they come in more colors
a turquoise would really pop against that green. Deco was all about drama and sleek lines so go for something fun  Grin

I love Art Deco, Mercury glass vases or candle sticks would look great. Or maybe one of those great figural vases from the 30's, usually they are pretty easy to find at flea markets. But i know krylon makes a faux mercury glass like paint that's fairly easy to use.

10  Re: I need help with movie-related costumes! in Halloween Costumes by sugarm0mma on: February 27, 2008 06:33:32 AM
Dogfight isn't a movie from the 60's but it takes place during the 60's. Lili Taylor's character Rose would be lots of fun she wears this great yellow party dress and has this bi crazy hair sorry i couldn't find a better pic. But it's a good movie at any rate
