52  Robot Stamp! in Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Completed Projects by katchoo1 on: January 13, 2008 11:38:05 AM
I had an idea for a simple Valentine involving a robot but I have no robot stamps.  But I do have the Tombots dingbat font.  Found the right image, blew it up to 200 point size, printed it, transfered it to an eraser and started cutting.  An hour later I had my stamp and my card idea worked out just like it was in my head!

I'm very pleased because I hadn't done any carving in forever (like, years) but it came right back to me.  I'm gonna get hooked all over again, I can see it coming...

Here are some pics...

53  First Embroidery Attempt! in Needlework: Completed Projects by katchoo1 on: December 26, 2007 03:23:39 AM
I had a scrap of wrapping paper the other night and I really love the doodled look of the designs on it.  I felt inspired and experimental and I wanted to try embroidery so I found a scrap of canvas-y material and drew a similar snowman to the one on the wrapping paper.  Then I outlined it in backstitch.  It was a quick little thing.

Now I'm not sure what to do with it!  I think it's the right size for an ATC but I've never made one with fabric before--not sure how to attach this or what else to do with it!  Any thoughts?

54  More Ginger Zombies! in Winter Holidays by katchoo1 on: December 23, 2007 02:43:17 PM
So I love, love love Ghilie's zombie gingerbread man and I needed a simple project to try out my brand new xmas gift sewing machine, and I have a couple of friends who are horror/zombie fans, so I had to take a whack:

I messed up one of the little fellas' hands by sewing too close so I added some felt scraps and called it a stump with tendons!

I'm all excited about my first sewing in years & years, and my first project to post on here.  Hopefully soon I'll make a try at something original rather than just following someone else's pattern.  But in the mean time, big thanks to Ghilie for sharing her idea and giving great instructions!
