11  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Gryffindor Scarf! POA (trapped bar) style on: August 08, 2008 10:37:05 PM
absolutely gorgeous!

any chance you have a link or something to a pattern for those flowers?!

Thank you, cookimistress!

I don't have a link or pattern for the flowers.  My daughter (beauootifulsooooup here on Craftster) made them, just on her own.  (And she's out of town, so I can't ask just at the moment, lol.)

I do know the basic construction, though.  You make a little chain, just a few stitches, slip to join it into a ring, and then chain up (like, 8 or 12 stitches or so), then join the end of each chain into the ring with sc.  This makes a loop which makes a petal.  (Wow, does that even make sense?)  So you do that around until you have several petals!  If you make two flowers with different petal sizes (more/fewer chains in each petal loop) you can stack them for a layered look, like these flowers.

If you want to see closer pics of the flowers, if that would help, there are some at this post on my blog, and they are also at my flickr account.  I'll also ask my daughter for more details when I speak with her on the phone! Cheesy

That's such a great scarf! I miss HP too!

Thank you so much, JForbes!  I know!  I miss HP, too!  (But HP swapping is good for that, lol!)  Cheesy

His is very nice, but yours is much more interesting!  Cheesy  I love that you can read the selvage info, and the pattern looks great at an angle like that!

I took pictures today at the Kansas Underground Salt Museum-- 650 feet below Hutchinson Kansas, where it's always 68 degrees and 40% RH.

I may be a dork to say this, but it was pretty cool.

That is really cool!  Oh yay!  (I went somewhere fun yesterday, but not as cool as that! Wink )

Nice packages!  I especially like the book purse and the pendant!

Great package!

Congratulations to all of you, the last package has been received, and we've had a flake-free swap! Awesome work, everyone!  Grin  Shocked Cool

Yay!  That is excellent news!  And thank you, indigo_roses and BabyGirlBling, for organizing and co-organizing this swap!  This was so much fun!  Cheesy

So pretty!  I love it in fuchsia!  Very nice pics, too.

BTW, this is the project I've picked to take traveling with me later this month, so hopefully in Sept I'll have something to post here!  Cheesy  (I'll be making it for my DD, but I haven't picked the color yet -- I'll let inspiration strike in the yarn section of the fabric store, lol.)  Thank you for sharing this, pinkleo.  You've really started something lovely!

I am pretty close to done with my frame, and I'm closing in on the shots from the Bay Area.  I won't be sending until I get some pics in Pennsylvania, though.

On the topic of trigger happy, and the related topic of editing, I don't see how I am going to cut this down to 24.  Maybe the 24 "best" shots, and then some more "bonus" pics?

BTW, I am super impressed by those sending already!  Way to go!  Can't wait to see the gallery!

Sprinkles is super cute!  I love the stitching around her ears.  She's lovely.  Also, love the "garden" you've placed her in for the photos.  Great pics!
