31  Re: Butterflies and pinch pots in Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects by DancinInTheDark on: August 12, 2008 09:33:45 AM
Okie dokie, Pokie, here's the pics I promised. This is the type of work I'd like to do more of, but I need to learn the firing process so I can do it at home.

I love how the fire licked the surface and left its mark. Even though they're not glazed I'm amazed at the shine they retained from the burnishing process.

Oops! Modified to add that these are slab pots, formed by using a slab of clay and 'manipulated' into shape. This was a required project made in the same ceramics class I did the butterfly pot.

Those are beautiful. I'd like to get into that too.

32  Soup can to cute pencil holder. in What the heck can I do with THIS? by DancinInTheDark on: July 03, 2008 03:43:20 PM
I made this adorable pencil holder from a steel soup can. All I did was spray paint it gold and then glue cute trim on it. Sorry the picture is sideways...too fat.
Tongue Darn Photobucket and their silliness.. Wink

Okay, after like 75 tries, the picture is finally acceptable.. Wink

33  This is a bit overdone, but.. in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by DancinInTheDark on: May 17, 2008 11:09:25 AM
This is just the basic old book to new journal recon but it was my very first old book to new journal recon, and I'm pretty proud of it. The cat fabric was left over from pajama pants I made in Home Ec class and the paper is just regular plain old printer paper. I sewed the pages together with a needle and thread. I've long since gotten a bone scorer, a folder, and an awl. Wink Haha. Sorry the picture is blurry too. Tongue

34  My Awesome Doll! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by DancinInTheDark on: May 17, 2008 10:49:02 AM
I made this doll last summer but didn't get around to making her clothes and putting her hair on until earlier this year. Isn't she awesome?  Smiley

35  Fuze bottle to cute vase! in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by DancinInTheDark on: April 27, 2008 06:18:31 PM
I made this vase from an empty Fuze bottle I asked my friend to save for me. All I did was take some of those adhesive labels, cut flowers out, stick them on the bottle, then spray-paint over them. When it was dry I peeled the flowers off. And voila! A cute vase.  Smiley

36  Blue purse I made last summer. <3 in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by DancinInTheDark on: April 06, 2008 08:28:41 PM
This is a purse I made last summer. It took just two days to make. Smiley I'm pretty proud of it because I put a pocket in it and that was my very first time making a pocket.  Cheesy

38  Hey, everyone.. (misc. photography and snowman) in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by DancinInTheDark on: March 29, 2008 11:24:59 PM
I finally got my Photobucket working. I'm going to put up pictures of the things I've made tomorrow sometime, but for now I just have a picture I took and a couple pictures my sister and mom took. If y'all want to see it, it's here. I'm totally proud of myself, considering the fact I'm a total goof when it comes to that stuff.  Embarrassed  Haha.

39  Re: TUTORIAL FINALLY ADDED!!!Happy Star Felt iPod Cozy For 3g (Super IMG Heavy) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by DancinInTheDark on: January 21, 2008 09:55:21 AM

I machine stitched mine using a blanket stitch.  The dark blue is a stiff felt with glitter embedded that gives the cover some body, but would be scratchy against the ipod.  We (dear daughter and I) decided to make ours able to open up flat.  It is stitched across the bottom to make a hinge.  The cord hole is just a slit cut in the felt.

I had to line the back pocket so the ipod wouldn't scratch against the dark blue star...the layers of the back are (from the inside out) light blue star, batting, dark blue star, light blue rectangle the same size as pocket, but stitched down around all four sides, dark blue pocket.

That is so cute! <3 I made mine out of denim, but....it's not quite finished yet.  Embarrassed
