11  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Fused plastic grocery bag vest on: January 01, 2011 05:07:04 PM
Looks great! I would wear this on my wedding day.

Oh my god that is one of the nicest things anyone has ever said about my work. Thank you!

That's utterly amazing!!!

Is it super stiff and uncomfortable?
I've fused plastic before and got very flimsy pieces as well as very stiff plastic pieces

It's not super stiff but I have to be careful putting it on. Once it's on it's pretty comfortable though. It's eight layers of plastic fused together.

Hey all!

I made this vest for my Plastics for Jewelry class this semester. It's made of fused plastic bags that I laser-cut with a lace pattern. Then I fused the pieces together with an iron.

Wow, everything is so beautiful. I especially love Ophelia's outfit and the black sequin leotard. I love the photography too, I can't wait to show this to my photo major roommate. Thanks for sharing! I hit This Rocks.

Yayyyyy I am so happy you liked everything, Interrobam. I immediately put my chocolate wands in the freezer and am dutifully saving them for the premiere.

I finally took pictures of what Interrobam (Emily) sent me! I lost my camera cord for a few days, sorry about the delay haha.

She made me this really detailed and wonderful Luna plushie. It came with three different outfits on their own little wire hangers. Every detail is cared for, there are little buckles on her shoe and her bra has a little hook and eye. I totally love it. There are three different hair options that velcro on and off, too.

She made me little felt Beedle the Bard charms, and one of a purple Voldemort face based on a cupcake I made years ago haha.

My edible present was wands that were really chocolate/vanilla covered pretzels in these really nice packages.

And she made me a wonderful hand made and hand-beaded bag that I love and will definitely be taking to the movie. It has a Moaning Myrtle stencil.

I got my amazing package from Interrobam on Thursday and I am so happy! I will get pictures up today or tomorrow, I had to leave for the weekend immediately after getting my package so I have not gotten to spend a lot of time with it.

She sent me (this is from memory so I am sorry if I miss something Emily!)
-Beedle the Bard charms handstitched from felt, so cute!!
-drawing of me as a Hogwarts student
-yummy-looking edible wands (chocolate covered pretzels?) in fancy packaging
-hand-beaded Moaning Myrtle bag
-hand beaded Luna Lovegood plushie complete with several different outfits and hairstyles/Spectre-specs and all the outfits came on their own little wire hangers. This is my favorite, I think. I can't wait to dress her up.

And apparently there is another surprise coming! (Which is so unnecessary, I just have the best swap partner ever. Be jealous.)

I hope I got everything! I can't tell you how thrilled I am with everything. <3

18  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Headbands from Italian Bowties on: September 13, 2010 04:27:03 PM
I made these headbands from some vintage bowties I found at a market in Rome, Italy. I did some research and I'd place the bowties as being from the 1940s or 50s.

Great job!  Love it for so many reasons and right now everywhere you look you see ruffled minis.  I see a knock off in the future for my 8 yr old. Wink  Thanks for the inspiration.

Oh that's wonderful! I'm thrilled it has inspired you Cheesy
