1  Re: Ongoing Wish Swap Round 35 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by tibeydo on: July 17, 2008 08:43:08 AM
I received from igobylorib, and its really amazing. This picture isn't the greatest, as I forgot I had my camera on a WAY lower pixel setting and now its dead (and charging).. I promise to put up better pictures later.

I told her the basic colors of my room, but couldnt find it online, so she winged it. I laid it on top of my pillowcase so you could see how dead-on the color combos are.

Its a combination of hand-sewn, and machine sewn with decorative stitches too... i will get close up pictures later (probably tonight). DH is taking me out to Olive Garden for lunch (woo hoo for salad and breadstix!!), and I have to get ready Cheesy

Here's another shot of it all:

I decoupaged the box, and sprayed the cookies with "vanilla icing" body spray, hehe. I loved the way they turned out!

3  Felt Sugar Cookie baking kit for OWS swap :) in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by tibeydo on: July 03, 2008 08:53:58 PM
I claimed a girlosun_9 for the OWS 35, and on her wists she had one of these from etsy. The oven mitt is super adorable (lined with fleece instead of batting because I didn't have any), and the apron I made with ribbon ties in the back because I wasn't sure how old her daughter was, and didn't want to give away what I was making. She can cut them to size and heat-seal them Smiley

The felt food is handsewn, and I stuffed the cookies with polyfil sprayed with vanilla-icing body spray, so everything smells edible Smiley The box is decoupaged (its a photo box) with scrapbook paper I cut out with an exacto. I LOVE the way everything turned out!

As always, comments are appreciated!

5  My first "real" crochet project... scalloped edge hat in Crochet: Completed Projects by tibeydo on: July 03, 2008 10:05:26 AM
My grandmother taught me to crochet when I was really little, and I hadn't done it since then. Just recently my mom was talking about having me finish a throw she was working on when she passed away, and I decided I needed to get back in the hang of things.  So I made this. I didn't use a pattern... I just saw a hat like this and winged it. After a lot of undoing and redoing, its finished. I LOVE it, especially since I just hacked all my hair off Smiley Plus, it looks tie-dyed!

Thanks! Comments appreciated always Cheesy

I received from Quilted, and SHE'S AWESOME!!!!!!! I've been in love with the "parasite pals" stuff (i'm a nerdy labtech, and think its hilarious)... and she TOTALLY hooked me up! Plus there's some beautiful fabric and batting Smiley

Here's all the loot:

Here's all the parasite pals stuff... complete with sticky tape, memo/addy book, erasers, and THE LUNCH KIT!!! I've had this in my wist forever!

Here are my favorite fabrics.....

And a closeup of the stickers and memo book...

I was at a family function when I opened it... I was so excited and everyone else thought I was crazy for being excited over fabric and stuff with tapeworms on it... but what do they know anyway Wink

Thank you SOOOO much quilted, you made my day!!!

Okay, let me say first that I'm pretty sure either Gavagai is the best stalker ever, or she's psychic. She really nailed ALL of my tastes with the fabric she sent. Even the ziploc bag was cute, and she sent beautiful postcards from all over the world for Maddison.

Here's the whole loot:

Here's are my favorites (although I love them all!)... I almost bid on the IKEA fabric on ebay today, no kidding! Then, there's some day of the dead fabric, kawaii, and vintage Smurfs! I almost died!

And here's the lovely Maddison who would barely hold still long enough for me to snap a pic... she wanted to put the postcards in her album Smiley They're really cool, from all over (even the Phillipines and Sydney!)

Thanks so much Sara... I love it all!!!

8  Rocky Horror Picture Show "Eddie" costume recon in Costumes: Completed Projects by tibeydo on: April 20, 2008 09:10:16 PM
Okay, let me begin by saying... if you haven't seen rocky horror in the theatre, GO! I'd never been, although the movie is a favorite of mine, until Saturday.

We decided to go Saturday morning, so this was thrown together QUICKLY. The vest was $2.99, the shirt $1, and the wig $9, plus the leopard fabric at $.50 (the vest and top were locally found at a thrift store), plus the jewelry chain. Eddie (meatloaf) is my favorite character, so here's the costume. I LOVE it, and threw it together in less than an hour. I lined the vest with leopard print, then sewed it open in the front so it would show. The back is panted, with chain sewn on. The tshirt has "Eddie" on the front in glitter. Cheesy

I realize I totally look like a man here, but I had to Cheesy

Sweet jacket.

Comments welcome... and PLEASE go to the nearest midnight showing!!!

9  Re: Spring Cleaning Fill A Box Round 7 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by tibeydo on: March 31, 2008 05:58:12 PM
Nofury has received, and should be posting tomorrow but I wanted to post a couple things I included. Nofury loves asian inspired stuff, so that sort of became my theme.

You can see the WAY awesome new fabric (I'm not sure what it was supposed to be, as its way larger than a hankie... a napkin maybe?) I found at a yard sale for $1... it was so pretty!

And some cute kawaii...

(minus hello kitty bags, I had to leave out some stuff as I sent some soap, lol)

I'll let NoFury post the rest cause I had to add some and leave a couple things out after I took pics Cheesy

I received and its adorable! I had very similar tastes to my partner, we both liked gnomes and the like. To encourage my newly acquired love of sewing, she sent me this adorable tape measure (The card is in the pic too as I thought it was beautiful). Thanks monkeythumb... I LOVE it!
