1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Xmas present for 2 year old nephew on: November 14, 2009 09:51:17 AM
My nephew is actually turning two on December 7th but I've already bought him a birthday present (Leap Frog Tag Jr).  I wanted to do something special for his Christmas present that will help him develop skills throughout the year if possible (maybe an activity book of sorts?) .

For the baby shower I made a diaper wreath that my sister and brother-in-law were so impressed with they decided not to use it and hang it up in the nursery room as decoration instead. For his 1st birthday I bought him some hard toys and hard books for entertainment and teething purposes. Last Christmas I filled a large box with wipes, diapers, a few books, a few movies, some small stuffed animals and various things for mom and dad to use (baby lotion and the like).

This is my sister's child and our other sister comes in to visit every month and she brings a new toy everytime. I don't have the budget for that so this time of the year is the only time he gets presents from me so I want it to be from the heart. Any ideas?

5  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / help a newbie! on: February 07, 2008 09:09:43 PM
I love baking and in the last couple of months my boyfriend has gotten me into cooking as well but the most complicated thing I've cooked completely by myself is scrambled eggs/breakfast burritos.

I'm short on money(20-25 dollars) and would love to make dinner for my boyfriend as his Vday gift, but he is expecting something out of the cookbook he bought me (How to Boil Water by the Food Network) and I want to really surprise him. Anyone got some recipes that a dunce could follow that would still knock his socks off?
