1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / strapless dress on: July 31, 2008 02:18:52 PM
My friend's mom gave me a dress which she thought looked great on me. I disagreed. The print wasn't so bad; it reminds me of sailor clothes or something. Anyways, the original dress was a turtle-neck without sleeves. the print was just waaaaaay too busy to cover me neck to ankles.... so I chopped the dress at the waits and took in the sides. It's really stretchy material so I didnt even need a zipper.

The last picture gives you a better look of the print....
I wore this to a wedding on the weekend, but I'm still not sure if I love it or not. I think it looks better with the belt/ribbon but my mom, boyfriend and sister disagree...
comments or suggestions appreciated!
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Jean Dress on: July 04, 2008 09:00:56 AM
This is something I made this week. Inspired by this https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=247985.0

I had to add a strip of black material to the bottom; it was a little too short.
These are pictures of it with and without a belt and a close up of the neckline.
I'm excited to wear it:)

Let me kno what you think...
3  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Completed Projects / Tiny Fairy Garden for Mother's Day on: May 07, 2008 03:37:50 PM
I made this for my mom and now I can't wait to make my own:) I was very inexpensive and fun to make, but VERY time consuming...

I got the idea from here: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=242194.0

This is a before picture of my pile of supplies, including diet coke and i-pod:):

During construction:

The Finished Product:

close up of the steps, and the walkway(my favorite:) i love the green beads and "grass":

I used only materials I found in the walking trails near my house and at the beach. and with a GLUE GUN. First I bought some terrible Dollarama super-glue (don't ever trust it).the only thing it bonded "instantly" was my skin. glue guns work the best for this type of thing, but careful not to burn yourself:(
I bought 2 bags of earth from the dollarstore and a plastic tub for $3.
fill the bottom with rocks first for drainage, and then put in the dirt. BUilt your fairy house then i add some flowers.
simple. fun. and cute.
let me know what you think!

5  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / chameleon painting! on: March 21, 2008 12:38:24 PM
I recently completed a painting of a friend's chameleon. It is in acrylic on mat board...I also used tissue paper to give it some texture and finished it off by adding details in charcoal and pastels.

this one is a close up:

These pictures are not the best, and this is my first craftster post, so let me know if I can change anything to improve this post (or my painting!)
I would love some feedback.
