1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Amy Butler's SWEET LIFE BAGS on sale 45% off... on: March 23, 2010 09:44:53 AM
I know alot of you love her bags as much as I do but can't afford her prices, her sweet life bags are now on sale for about 45% off. The sale prices are still high but more affordable for some of us. Too bad I don't care for any of her sanibel fabric choices Tongue. I've been drooling over it since it first came out. I'll just have to make my own.

2  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / ISO Strawberry Shortcake Fabric on: September 17, 2009 05:50:13 AM
Does anyone where I can buy this exact SSC print? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&Item=330359513509&Category=28162&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26its%3DI%26otn%3D2  .  I checked Joanns, Hancocks, Walmart, Ebay, Etsy and several other online stores. Will check Hobby Lobby this weekend. I need about 1 1/2 - 2 yds of this print in cotton. It has to be readily available b/c I see alot of items on ebay and etsy made with it. If I have too I will try emailing one of the sellers to see if they would share where the purchased the fabric, I just feel a little nervy doing that Embarrassed.

Any help is apreciated!
3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Kwik Sew Clutches on: September 07, 2009 05:24:49 PM
Here are two clutches I recently made with the free Kwik Sew Clutch pattern http://www.kwiksew.com/Projects/5001.pdf. Really easy pattern to follow. I did struggle with the stiff interfacing being it was my first time using the Pellon 70. I really didn't like the wrinkled effect from the fusible interfacing...any tips to keep this from happening is appreciated. After my mom seen my skull clutch she fell in love with the shape/size and wanted one for herself but with a purse strap.  I couldn't convince her to let me make her a skull one   Cheesy so I made her a zebra one...now whenever we go shopping I can spot her a mile away  Wink . Thanks for looking~~ Mary

4  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Spongebob Market Outfit on: August 05, 2009 05:56:22 AM
Last week I ran across this lovely tutorial for a market skirt, it was love at first site  Kiss..... http://www.dana-made-it.com/2008/07/tutorial-market-skirt.html. Jenna loves Spongebob, can't you tell thats what shes watching in these pics Cheesy? Perfect timing for this tut b/c I had just bought some SB fabric and wasn't sure how to use it. This skirt is super easy to do and doesn't take alot of fabric. It took me a little longer to make it b/c my white fabric was way to thin so I ended up doubling up on it. Which worked out better in the end b/c didn't have to hem it.  The only change I made were to the pockets, didn't follow the gathered pocket instructions 'To a T'. Planning on making alot more of these. They will look so cute in fall colors paired up with tights underneath. Thanks for looking!

A few action shots

P.S. Also posting this on the machine embroidery board, hope thats ok.
5  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Appliqued Owl Twirl Top and Pants on: November 11, 2008 05:57:01 PM
The second I seen this pattern I just knew I had to get it...TWIRL TOP & PANTS by SEWBABY (sz 1-4). It came together rather nicely(first time doing pants) and it was pretty easy to make. It was my first time doing ruffles/gathering Tongue, not my favorite thing but I love the effect. I ended up with some 'less ruffled spots' than others so next time I will pay more attention to that. This is definitely my favorite new pattern Grin.

Here's the completed set. Sewed a small button to the front of the pants so I could tell the front from the back Lips sealed.

Here some action shots BEFORE I added the applique to the pants

Here we are playing hide and go seek (guess who's 'IT' Wink Huh

6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Girly Baby Shower Gift Set on: October 22, 2008 12:20:12 PM
My SIL's sister (say that 3 times fast) is due for Christmas so I decided it would be the perfect time to make my first baby gift...burpies, wipes case, and pacifier clippie. I just found out she's not into bright colors so uhhhhhh I may not have picked the best fabric Undecided, oh well more reason for baby Kensi' to spit up on it Cheesy. Sure wish I would have known how to sew when I had DD 2 years ago....I would have loved to made these for myself. Oh well my next child will be stylin then Cool. Thanks for looking!

8  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / ISO: Cloche Hat Pattern (sewing) on: May 22, 2008 11:45:25 AM
I would love to try my hand at make my 18 month old a cute cloche hat but I cannot find any NON-crochet/knitting patterns. I want to sew one just like this.....http://www.floodclothing.com/hats_childrens.html Scroll down to designs 5 & 6 (Recycled cloche & recycled Ragga). 9  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Where to look for interior design ideas? on: May 16, 2008 07:30:43 AM
Hi everyone! After 6 years of scrimping and saving Dh and I have finally saved enough to build house....wooo hoooo!!!! In 6 mo. I will have an enitre house (3bed 2 bath) to decorate Shocked.   We really don't have extra money to hire someone to help Undecided. My forte' is sewing and machine embroidery, not interior design. I admire so many of you that naturally have this talent Grin.  Any good sites, books, magazines I  should check out to help get some ideas? I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction Huh.  Any and all advice is appreciated!

10  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Zebra Pleatness on: May 12, 2008 07:54:46 AM
First I would like to thank APPLESAREGREEN for your lovely tutorial!!! It was a very easy tutorial to follow,  wish the zipper instructions would have been a little more clearer but it was still a great tut. It was my first zipper, way easier than I expected to install. When I came to the last step (tucking/sewing the ends of the zipper) I had trouble sewing it on my machine so I ended up hand sewing the curves. It did take longer than I expected to complete Roll Eyes, but next time will be alot easier. I did make a few changes/add ons......added inside pockets, made the straps longer, and used ultra firm stabilzer so it has more of a boxy shape. This was a birthday gift for DD's Nanny. She turned 18 this Saturday. She mentioned to me 2 weeks ago how much she loves zebra print so I felt it was my duty to make a zebra purse. She loved it! My mom wants one now Grin. Hope you like it!

Don't you just love my wonky hand sewed curves  Wink

Figured you might want to see the inside.....2 big pockets and 1 pen pocket
