A fellow craftster and I did a joint project. We spent about $8 (a few things we bought but didn't end up using).

Pot scrubbers

Gum balls!

And we begin!

Lots of gluing

Stringing gum balls to make the handle

Almost done!

I made these for a friend, she hasn't seen them yet, but if she likes them she is going to wear them on her wedding day!

Just after soldering:

All put together with a bit of filing:

They still need to be polished a little bit more
6  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Feather pot on: December 11, 2007 09:16:39 PM
I love CERAMICS!! I made this in my grade 12 ceramics class. It was made by the slab technique, not on the wheel.
Very proud of it  Grin

7  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / Copper Enamel on: December 11, 2007 09:09:16 PM
Not sure if this is the right place... but the enamel is glass, so I figured this would be ok.

I made this in my grade 12 material art class. We weren't allowed to use the kilns ourselves... my teacher was well known for getting distracted and letting the pieces burn... but I looooove the look of the burn out!! (That's the dark black-ish colour under and around the crown)
8  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / Sand blasting! on: December 11, 2007 09:02:26 PM
This was sand blasted to get the pattern, and then fused to get the shape.
I am so proud of it  Grin

9  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / Stained glass on: December 11, 2007 09:00:55 PM
I made this in my grade 12 material art class in high school.... a few moons ago
Inspired by Art Deco.

10  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Cloudberry on: December 11, 2007 10:15:21 AM
These have a few different techniques (so I'm not sure where it goes) but I thought I would put it here b/c embroidery was the final step.

I carved out 5 block stamps and stamped them in brown on white silk. Then I silk painted the background colour (which is the colour of the actual berry). And then finally I embroidered a few sections. This was pretty much my first time doing embroidery, I'm not disappointed with the way it turned out.

Block printed and silk painted, before embroidery

Cloudberry flower and leaf

After embroidery
Sorry... they haven't been ironed...
