11  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Simple quilled hearts card on: February 10, 2008 10:07:48 AM
I made this card for my neighbor, and she knows that I am a beginner at quilling, so hopefully she'll look past it's imperfections!  LOL!

Sorry for the bad picture, and for not showing the inside of it.  I wrote a personal message on the inside before I remembered to take a pic!   Roll Eyes
12  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / decoupage question on: January 21, 2008 04:53:00 PM
I'm working on wall letters for our house, and decoupaging scrapbooking paper on them so I don't have to bust out the paints.  And the project itself is going well, but I don't like the decoupage I'm using.  I have Aleene's Gloss Decoupage, and it just seems to be leaving horrible streaks.

Since this is only the second time I use this brand of decoupage (with the same streaky results), I'm starting to wonder if maybe it's just me that is messing it all up?

I'm using a foam brush, putting it on in thin, even layers, and letting each layer dry for 24 hours.

Help anyone!  The letters are cute, streaks and all, but I would like to perfect this so I can make more of these wall letters for friends and family.

Thanks in advance!
13  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / My Little Spool Tree on: January 02, 2008 06:42:51 PM
Sorry I'm posting this well after Christmas, but I figure, hey, better now than never  Grin

This little tree was inspired from a craft out of the Oriental Trading catalog and since I already had all the necessary supplies, I decided to make my own, and save some money!!   Grin    LOL!

It's kind of simple, but I love it!

By the way, I think I'm too tired or something to figure out how to link the actual craft correctly, but here's the long version:

14  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / car loving, adidas wearing firefighter on: December 10, 2007 09:35:05 AM
I have a great friend from high school and we're on seperate coasts, and he is the only person I have left to craft for, and I'm just drawing a blank.

He and I both had '68 Firebirds, so I was thinking about making something that has to do with the cars, but I just don't know how to pull it all together.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.  I did find a '68 Firebird Hot Wheels on eBay that I may buy, but I want to have a plan first so I'm not just buying stuff that won't be used.

15  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Introduce Yourself / Hi Everyone! Glad to be here! on: December 04, 2007 06:59:12 PM
I am a 26 year old wife, and mother to a beautiful little girl, and full time crafter!   Grin  I enjoy paper crafts, sewing, glass etching, and of course right now, I'm enjoying making holiday ornaments!!

The only I can't seem to get the hang of is knitting and crocheting...   Embarrassed  I have everything I need to do both, and when I sit down and look at the instructions, I get all confused, and put everything down.  I'm sure one day I'll get the hang of it!

Well, I've pretty much visited every board on here, and am excited to be here!  I love all of the wonderful talent you all have!  You are all so inspiring!
