Please stop posting pretty patterns or wraps/shawls! My list is growing out of control 😉

Eeeep! How can you lovely ladies already be done with the challenge?! Haha I probably have too many WIPs that I really need to finish first...

That orange Lost in time shawl is very pretty SheepBlue! I should have worn one on Kingsday yesterday!

Jennie I love your shawl! Colours are so pretty and so is the pattern. Great work!

I didnt make any progress on my crochet between the lines, because I made a stupid mistake in that one too  Sad I crochet with two skeins, two rows colour A, two rows colour B. Yep, I forgot to change colours and noticed my mistakes 130 or so rows after that :O
On the bright side: I had a stripe of white I didnt like which is less now I crocheted it right and I am so in love with the pattern that it will be worth it!

@pottermouth: you can do it! I just know you can!

You are much more meticulous than I!  Cheesy I found that I missed a stitch a few rows back on my Secret Paths shawl, but did I rip it out to fix that mistake? Um....no. lol. I think I covered up the missed stitch pretty well - it'll be hard to pick out over all, so I'm not sweating it.

Im not always like this, if it isnt going to be that visible I ignore it or cover it up too. This was going to affect the shape of the shawl, so I redid it.

Made good progress and I finished part 3 of the pattern! Yay!
Then I started part 4 and after 1 row I discovered that part 3 needed 2 more rows, oops! Wink
So I picked row 1 and now Im working on row 32 of part 3 haha!
I really should read and check it better!

Jennie that sounds great! That is no stash but a treat Cheesy

It makes me feel much better to read about your crochet adventures.. It happened to me more than once: yarn not suitable for pattern I chose (colour change too short or yarn too thick) , a blanket with rowes of different stitches so the blanket gets all wonky (and all you see is others with such straight edges), An advanced pattern which turns out REALLY difficult after 20 rowes hahaha Cheesy
Good to know Im not the only one.

Yesterday I discovered a mistake in my Edlothia shawl! Of course 9 rowes back... darn! I had to do it all over so no progress there!

That's a really pretty pattern Jennie! Do you have some yarn in mind for it?

Not sure.  I actually don't have a huge stash of yarn to dig through and choose from.  I try really hard not to buy yarn unless I have a specific project for it.  I do have 2 full skeins of Lion Brand Heartland staring at me.  I bought a ball of turquoise (pinnacles) for a rug that I'm making for our kitchen, but I haven't gotten to that point in the rug yet, and to be honest, I'm not sure if I like how the rug is turning out, so it wouldn't make or break anything if I stole it for another project.  (I was trying to adapt a pattern, but I'm not sure it's working the way I want it to, so I might need to frog it and rethink.)  And I have a skein of dark brown (sequoia), that I picked up in the clearance bin from Hobby Lobby for $1.43, when I was in the middle of making a ton of hats for noodle-bug to bring to the refugee camp.  I think the deep brown and bright turquoise would look nice together, but it won't be enough yarn, so I'll need to supplement.

(The sequoia is a bit duller and less red, and the pinnacles isn't quite so eye-watering in person.)

I'm considering adding in a softer brown as a bridge between the two, and making it for my mom.  Probably the mammoth cave color.  Maybe a pinch of darker teal cuyahoga?  I'm afraid the acadia would be too bright, and that the grand canyon would be too dull.  Thoughts?

Other than that, I have a bunch of partial skeins of pinks & light purples of Caron Simply Soft, leftover from making pussyhats, and both mom & I hate pink, so I would be making a shawl for no one.  I hate crafting without having someone in mind as the recipient.

I think the mammoth cave or/and the darker teal colours will work well with the colours you already have. I think the acadia will omdeed be too bright. But thats just my thoughts Wink

I do have quite a yarn stash and I wish Id be more like you! Sometimes I buy yarn with a specific project in mind, but while working on it that doesnt work out so well, I get bored or I didnt buy enough Cheesy

I made good progress on the crochet between the lines shawl. Theres a spot in the shawl I dont like because of the colour changes but I hope when its finished it blends in more..  Sad

Jennie that pattern looks great!

Love the orange shawl you started Sheepblue! I love the popcorn stitch so much, it adds fun to a shawl I think.

Oh, pottermouth I love your cakeyarns! I love all sorts of patterns for that, so just pick one  Wink

I think I will use this pattern
There is some yarn in my stash I used for a shawl I end up not liking. So... But I'm still working on several projects so not sure yet  Smiley

Does anyone have a really good reference site for how to read charts? I can kind of do it but not well lol.

I learned by doing a few shawls with both charts and words, I compared them all the time. That really worked for me.

I still like to have both, sometimes I only use the words, other time the chart.
I will have to take a look at my to do list if I can give you an example. You don't have to actually crochet it, it is just to get the hang of it.

Will come back to that  Smiley
