111  boxes made of records, their sleeves, super glue and tape in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by lexi_icedrink on: December 16, 2007 03:38:27 PM
Very simple but I like them! They are quite sturdy too!

The one with the brown tape was the first version. The blue one is the second try. Some more boxes are in progress 'cause I am making them as wrap for christmas presents  Tongue

112  fused plastic garbage can / vase in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by lexi_icedrink on: December 16, 2007 03:25:50 PM
I wanted to do something different with fused plastic, so I've made a little container with it. The grey and blue bags are special bags in Belgium made for recycling your waste. The grey ones are for normal house scrap and the blue ones are for plastic bottles and milk cans. I am not sure yet what I am gonna use it for  Grin

113  lego key chains in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by lexi_icedrink on: December 16, 2007 03:16:06 PM
I know the lego thing isn't new anymore, but I want to show my two creations anyway  Grin I've made this key chains for me and my sister, her motorcycle was stolen last week, so I'm sure she will love the little bike...

114  press-button jewels in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by lexi_icedrink on: December 12, 2007 01:37:32 AM
I've bought a jewelry findings-kit on eBay and a couple of days ago it finally arrived! But I didn't had any beads so I came up with using 'sew-on' press-buttons. I don't like to use those on clothes, so I had a lot of them just laying around. Because I am not really wearing a lot of jewels, I really love the end result, it is so simple  Smiley These are just basic, but maybe in the future I'll make some more complex patterns  Grin

115  my attempt at the wee bunny in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by lexi_icedrink on: December 09, 2007 09:50:15 AM
This is the first doll I made. I thought this "wee bunny" in the tutorial list looked super cute and not too difficult to make  Cheesy(http://weewonderfuls.typepad.com/wee_wonderfuls/store/wee-bunny.html)

Unless I followed the instructions very good, it was really not that easy as I expected. I came out with this creature  Grin

I decided to give him to a friend for his birthday. So I wanted to make him more sturdy and gave him a tie. I didn't have a lot of time so I've partly put it together with some textile glue.

Note: I used recycled fabrics. He's made from a curtain, a sweater and a dress :-)

116  frightful 90s sweater transformed into fluffy boots in CHALLENGE 23 ENTRIES by lexi_icedrink on: December 02, 2007 03:40:20 PM

I just found out about this community and it's challenge. This was really my cup of tea (two lumps of sugar please... Grin)!
My life is all about thrifty finds. Almost everything in my house is second hand and I even worked in a thrift store (= 'kringloopwinkel' in Belgium) some while ago. I am really passioned about making something out of nothing, giving value to things other people find worthless.

So off I went hunting  Cheesy I knew already what I was going to make: a pair of thick, HOT slippers for using inside the house. (Like a lot of women I often suffer from cold feet.) I easily found an atrocious jumper, made out of a hideous printed(!) fleece. As you see on the price-label, it costed me 2,50 (or 3,66$)

Somewhere in a distant corner of the house I found a boring, slightly dirty pillow to use as the filler of my booties. When I opened it, the first thing that I thought was  "Lips sealed OMG! The hair of a dead afro-head"... Really horrifying at first, but now I know better: It's amazing warm stuff  Grin!

I started sewing since a couple of months, so this was really a challenge! I almost gave up on it, but here they are... I am quite proud of them!!!

Inside view:

Surprise! You can wear them in two ways, cuffed or uncuffed. When cuffed, another pearl is peeping out.

Thanks for looking and another BIG thanks if you vote for me!!! (as I am a newbie to craftster)
