18  Mr. Lucky in Needlework: Completed Projects by UrsulaDiamond on: August 30, 2008 05:55:18 PM
In the tattoo world this guy is known as Mr. Lucky. This particular one is based on a Rollo design. I started it a while ago and then put it away for a long time. Anyways there's at least 10 different colors, all DMC linen thread. The hat is long/short stitch
(except the red, that's ribbon) and the face is just my usual method of filling which I don't know a name for. I'm going to frame it but I need to get it custom done because the size isn't standard. Anyways I hope you all like it, it took a lot of work. Once I photograph it with the good camera I'll post another pic.

this is before i properly stretched and ironed it, i just wanted to give you an idea of what it looks like in full

The smoke is done in a wrapped stitch

In case you can't tell, i did the embroidery first and then sewed the pieced border onto it by machine

20  Sailor Jerry flash sheet # 1 - Hearts! in Needlework: Completed Projects by UrsulaDiamond on: August 02, 2008 11:53:36 AM
I made this for a charity art auction in support of cancer research. All the designs are from various Sailor Jerry flash sheets and line drawings. I arranged them myself into one large sheet. This was a really long project but I'm happy with how it came out! It ended up selling in a pre-sale before the actual auction even began.

can you spot the two places i forgot to do? I didn't notice them till i put the picture as my desktop background haha
