1  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Sugar Skull costume on: November 04, 2014 05:55:09 PM
My daughters halloween costume...inspired by our girl scout day of the dead dance theme...I made the dress out of crushed velvet, a tulle tutu, and added paint to the roses so it wasn't totally black...small veil with roses completed the look

2  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Witch costume on: November 04, 2014 05:41:05 PM
My daughter was in a school play and this is her witch costume I made. They originally were going to have her wearing a black "grim reaper" robe and witch hat but she refused  Wink so this is what we came up with. I wish I had a picture of the sleeves outstretched as they are my favorite part...very flowy with cutouts for the shoulders....the high-low overskirt comes off.

3  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Sugar Skull costume on: November 04, 2014 05:24:13 PM
I made this outfit for my daughter for our girl scout Day of the Dead Dance. It didn't come out perfect but I am proud of the fact that it is the first dress I have made without a pattern. the dress is made of crushed velvet and the tutu is detachable... Sorry for the bad pic...the lighting at the event sucked and the only place I could get a pic was in the bathroom doorway-of which she was not pleased lol.

4  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Help me dress dollie on: May 06, 2013 08:14:46 PM
So this is the prototype I made for my girl scout troop...they will be making these to donate to the local headstart program in august...

Fully dressed:

Velcro: (I was originally going to use a snap but the girls wanted velcro since most little kids shoes have it)
5  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / My first little pony on: May 06, 2013 08:08:53 PM
So I have been seeing all the adorable Little Ponies posted and finally found a little time to make one....I used VoodooTiki's free pattern (http://voodoo-tiki.deviantart.com/art/My-Little-Pony-pattern-1-291118373). I am pretty happy with it and DD loves it but I do need to tweek a few things if I make more

6  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Owl Stuffies for Girl Scout Award presentations on: April 24, 2013 07:41:14 PM
I made these little owls to present badges to my girl scouts...they have a "sash" with some of the badges on them and a pocket to hold the remainder of badges.

8  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Fairy Tale Castle on: February 20, 2013 10:23:32 PM
So for our girl scout World Thinking Day Event, I had to do a display for Germany. We decided to go with a castle since Germany is famous for them plus we were talking about the Brothers Grimm and fairytales. Here is the Castle display

9  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / Indian Saree for Girl Scout Event on: February 20, 2013 10:11:27 PM

10  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Crafty Charitable/Social Causes / Ideas needed please on: February 20, 2013 10:06:25 AM
My homemakers group is in charge of our annual fall meeting. I have been tasked to come up with 6-8 ideas for our goodie bags. Our theme is the Colors of Fall. All items must be small (fist size or smaller). We are already doing small owl pincushions and flower pincushions. We have to make around 150 of each item.  We also need 2 items that can be donated to the local nursing home. 1 for men, 1 for women in a quantity of around 40 each so they must be inexpensive. Please help me. All ideas will be appreciated.
