1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Harry Potter Christmas **IMG HEAVY** on: October 15, 2012 10:46:53 PM

I just completed the Back to Hogwarts swap and what I made for my partner was all Christmas themed. I just want to share it all here cause I am super happy with how it came out and of myself for being able to keep within the swap parameters and with the Christmas theme. Oh and also spoil my partner while I was at it.

First up a sorting hat ornament that I carved and shaped out of polymer clay and then painted with acrylics.

History of Magic book made out of poly clay and painted with acrylics. I first laid out all the thin sheets of clay to make the pages and when I was done with that I backed it when everything was cooled I painted the pages and then I attached the cover and baked it. Then I painted the whole ornament

Sorcerers stone made out of poly clay and acrylic paint

All of these were made from shrinky dinks which made me quite happy to be able to do with a 2 year old how looked at them full of wonder =)

Flourish and Blotts themed ornament

Another History of Magic Ornament

A Harry Potter Cartoon my partner had pinned that I re drew and then cut out. I think it turned out pretty okay.

My partner has a muggle bracelet pinned which gave me this idea. I made the muggle plaque out of clay that I baked until it was still slightly bendy (yes technical term I know lol) then I glued it to a plastic ornament with E6000 glue and inside of the ornament I swirled around silver glitter glue to make it sparkly.

I made these ornaments for her children they are poly clay with the children's houses placed on them

These are house themed ornaments that I just painted with acrylics and then decoupaged vinyl letter stickers on.

I also made a Ravenclaw tree skirt which is just fabric and iron on transfers.

And the last project which happens to be my F-A-V-O-R-I-T-E the Hedwig wreath. I used a floral form that I found in the dollar bin at Target it had a flat back which gave me the idea for the wreath. I used a marabu feather boa in white that I only glued to the front of the foam form then when that was dry I added in some loose brown feathers. The owl in the center is an owl charm I found at a craft store that you can take out the center and place beads on. I used two wood beads to fill in the space. I hung the charm from a piece of wire that I twisted until it was tight so that the charm would hang perfectly in the center of the wreath. I just stabbed the wire through the form with some glue on the tip. I used to remaining 5 or 6 inches of the twisted wire for the hanger and I placed it in the same way as the charm.

2  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Legend Ornament on: December 23, 2011 11:06:12 PM
I have this awesome friend who i love dearly and they lost someone dear to them right before Thanksgiving this year. So, me being me I thought about how hard the Holidays are for me with the losses I have and how having awesome friends do things out of the kindness of their heart make everything easier on me. With that being said I had to rack my brain on something awesome to do for this friend since time is never on our side for hanging out. That is when it hit me. This friend told me a story about how the movie Legend with Tom Cruise always made them think of their Dad taking them to the movies. This is the product of that conversation of an awesome memory.

Whole Ornament

The Unicorn Horn

Lili's Ring

Oona (well the ball of light version of her)

Orc Arrow

Everything is made of Polymer clay and I sealed it with hard as nails nail polish. i also used Acrylic paint to make the unicorn horn look like the one from the movie. Oh and I used glue and glitter to hide some of my mistakes like when I cracked the horn lol. I guess it was a good thing everything in that movie had glitter on it =)
3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Pirate and ocean themed jewelry on: July 07, 2011 01:41:10 AM

Well it has been at least a year if not two since I have posted anything here and that is for many reasons: moving home, getting an AWESOME divorce (no sarcasm I am truly happy about it) going back to school, losing over 150 pounds and not having time to do anything creative lol. However, about a week ago I got a crazy creative bug and busted out these pieces between school sessions and taking comp time.

Tell me what you guys think.

This one is made out of some pretty blue stones with an anchor charm. I thought it kind of looked like a wave with the way it lays.

This is my pirates of the Caribbean necklace. I made it after watching the movie with charms I found in my stash and a beautiful blue heart crystal and some shells.

This one is made with acrylic beads and a heart charm. I made it for a friend for her birthday. It just looked like her.

This is one I like a ton it isn't me at all but, I love it. It is made out of turquoise wood and glass beads on silver chain it it really long and I just love it.

I am sorry the pictures are not the greatest they are from my phone since my actual camera took a crap and sadly my phone is better than my camera in pixels etc however it doesn't have a flash.

Whenever I have worn these pieces I have been told "You have a thing for the Ocean don't you?" I have also recently been told I just exude the beach. I guess coming back home to California suits me cause the ocean is my only love and all I do is smile now that I am home and I go to the beach as much as I can.

So tell me what ya think =)
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Kc Royals Square with pattern on: June 16, 2010 01:37:57 AM
Well last June I decided I was going to teach myself to knit and I did after finding http://www.knittinghelp.com which was just a God Send to me the videos made me realize what I wasn't understanding. Well this June I decided to take on a huge project of making a blanket made up of squares of all the baseball teams in CA and Missouri. My problem I could find the Dodgers and the Angels in pattern form but, no other team that would be apart of the blanket. So, I decided to write my own pattern. After 7 long hours of graphing and writing out the pattern I began to knit my first square just to realize when I got to the end I wrote half of it backwards. After another 3 hours of trying to figure out where I went wrong I re-knit the pattern up and it came out. I am not happy with the size so, I think I am going to write a new pattern for all the teams now to make the blocks a bit bigger.

I used US  size 8 needles and some yucky yarn to check and see if the pattern had worked out so it isn't the prettiest square in the world but, I am so, proud of it since I wrote the pattern all on my own.

5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Some Jewelry Sets I have made lately on: February 17, 2010 04:14:41 PM
SO, for the past few months I have been obsessed with doing these three stranded necklaces and then I started making earrings and bracelets to go with them. I have been crafting like mad lately because of personal reasons it makes me calm lol.

I used black chain and these red rubberized beads on this one.

I found these really pretty clear acrylic beads and used them on these with some silver chain and when i finishes.

Moonlight Dreams

I used mostly glass beads on this one with eye pins.

6  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Sweets Nativity on: December 10, 2009 02:47:45 PM
My family decided that we were going to do a home made Christmas this year. Well since this decision my Grandma has been dropping hints about wanting sugar cookies and other sweets so, when we were over at my Grandma's last week my mom was telling my Gran about my mom's sweets nativity that my Dad bought her and my Gran was like oh that sounds so very cute. Well I didn't want to just make cookies for my Gran so I made her, her very own Sweets Nativity out of Sculpy (I think) i used mostly white clay except for the chocolate Shaving and the red on the base. I painted it with acrylics to look like the various bakery sweets that my Grandma kept asking for. Well without Further ado on to the pictures.

The Nativity straight on.

The Nativity from Above You can see that they are on top of a sugar cookie with red icing with Green glitter used for sprinkles

7  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / The first Embroidery I have ever done. on: August 31, 2009 10:32:38 PM
I just participated in the recent twilight swap and I made my partner a bag based on one of my fave purses but, it was so plan and I didn't want to work with stencils anymore so I tried my hand at Embroidery I think it turned out okay since I had to stitch through paper because I couldn't get the image to show up well enough on the black fabric. I used plain red thread because I was going to do it on the sewing machine but, my machine went weird and I figured hey if it doesn't look good I can always redo it with DMC floss later. I am really not sure what stitch I used since I just asked a friend what stitch would look best and she showed me and I did it lol. I used Whipped Running Stitch on this.

Well here are the photos

8  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Edward and Bella Dolls **Spoiler if you have not read breaking Dawn** on: August 31, 2009 10:23:35 PM
These are the first Ragdoll's I have ever made. I will say this about them they were difficult and they seemed to hate me most of the time I was working on them lol. They took about 7 hours each.

I hand stitched the clothes onto them and did a great deal of hand stitching on the clothing as well. Whenever I could I used my sewing machine. I hand stitched all of the hair on both dolls. I used thread in 4 different color to try and make it look more realistic. For every hair cluster there are four colors in Bella's hair every few inches I added in the red to show her red highlights.

Both Edward and Bella Sparkle because I based my gifts for after Breaking Dawn since that is the book that my partner seemed to like best. In the package these were from Renesmee to remind Boo_Zombie of her parents and to try and guilt her into a visit so that she could meet her.

With out further ado the pictures.

Oh Bella is wearing a little bracelet with a "crystal heart" it is a small plastic fasted heart with some twisted wire to look like a silver chain.

C&C always Welcome
9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Twilight Explosion **Jewlery made for the latest Twlight Swap** Img Heavy on: August 31, 2009 10:06:06 PM
Well my partner recieved her package and I am so proud of everything I made her Jewelry wise. I had a blast doing this swap and I think it is because I had such an awesome partner.

From Edward

This was most likely they hardest thing I have ever done because of the feathers. They were difficult to work with because I couldn't find white feathers I had to cut up a boa so the feathers were not happy doing what i needed them to do.

The hair clips were originally white so I sanded them and painted them silver and then I couldn't find the right size blue stones so I used permanent marker and then sealed them so that they would look close to Grandma Swan's Hair Clips but still have Boo's style to them.

Wine Charm Key

Little Extra Earrings

Jewelry Stand

I made this stand out of some cardboard I had lying around and then I covered it with muslin and painted it brown then I added the little tattoo stuff and did a brown wash over them so they blended in with the background but still went along with Boo_Zombies style. It was really easy to make since all I did for a template was to trace my own jewelry stand.

From Emmett

From Carlise

Charm Bracelet Key Boo Loved this

From Jasper

About Mother of Pearl

From Jacob

La Push Bracelet Explanation: the white wood beads made me think of the driftwood that Jacob and Bella sat on; The stones for the rocky shore; The Shells to represent the ocean; The dark wood beads to represent the forest that was close to first beach and the hemp because it would be something easy for Jacob to find and use in making the bracelet.

10  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Ruined 18th Birthday **Twilight** on: August 28, 2009 08:20:06 PM
A Picture to make them more appealing to come and look at.

So, I just did the Twilight swap round 8 and my partner loves shoes almost as much as I do I think so, I went twilight+shoes= heaven or something close to it at least lol.

Well I knew my theme for the shoes was going to be Bella's 18th Birthday and went out in search of Pink Heals. I found these.

I was like um yucky and promptly cut off the hot pink crocheted bits. Which made the shoe look like this.

I took my seam ripper to them and removed the remainder of the thread and was left with shoes that looked like this.

Which made me go oh crap what am I going to do about these holes. So, I left the shoes to sit for a few days while I thought about what I was going to do about the ugly ugly holes. When I had to fix something that had rhinestones on it and went wait a minute these would look awesome on my Twilight Themed shoes. Which made me change my initial design idea to what it became.

The Shoes from the front look like any other shoes nothing too wild except the rhinestones.

Then there is the back which I painted with white acrylic and went over with permanent markers to achieve the different pinks I then sealed the shoes with some stuff my friend had from sealing a pair of leather shoes I don't remember the name of it now since I did these back at the end of June begging of July.

One side has the number 18 and the other has a three layer looking cake.

My partner loves them and I had so much fun doing them I learned a lot by trial and error since these were the first shoes I had ever done in my life.

C&C welcome
