11  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: another (old fashioned) random gallery!! on: June 10, 2010 11:01:07 AM
Glad you liked it! As for the cupcake toppers...it's tricky because they're paper and kiddo may get them a bit messy, but if they managed to make it without getting yucked up I'd say just give the stick a good wipe with a warm cloth and it should be okay. Next time I guess I should consider making more durable ones, I've just recently discovered the magic that is shrinky dinks (I'm so addicted!!!!!), so maybe out of that!

And ya, the cardboard was cool, but I couldn't think of a way to get the image on it without using the ucky shiny stuff (I even tried to sand the sheen down, haha), anyone have a better idea? I wouldn't mind using this technique again..

I claim Casey1201 for a frilly, girly apron and probably some baking goodies.

Claim 1 of 2, 0 sent, 0 received

Sorry for the hold-up.

I'm 21 and living in Toronto, Ontario. I have a really wide variety of tastes. My ultimate goal in life is to try and launch a store that sells both lingerie and cupcakes, if that makes any sense at all. I have delved into pin-up and bondage modeling, and want to start working on a few burlesque acts. I live with my cat, three roommates, and their cat.

-my cat
-Jennifer Charles
-animal prints
-cynicism and sarcasm
-geeky things

Crafted Items:

Big Wish: -camera case (PM for measurements)
-handspun yarn (I love the yarn with fabric scraps/beads/sequins/other doodads added in, or anything glow in the dark <3)
-anything fun/cute for my cat (he needs a new collar or maybe a cat tunnel, PM me for measurements)
-dyed bright tights like these: http://www.welovecolors.com/Info/Colors.aspx  in any colour really!
-spoon paraphernalia (as in the kind of spoon you use for soup), stamp, plushie, stationary, etc etc
-t-shirts with geeky slogans
-pretty tampon case so they don't get all smushed up
-needlebook,  ironic, funny, or creepy themed  ( I have a human heart pin cushion if that gives you the general thing i'm going for)
-"Spoon" https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=247449.0  yellow or black would also be nice
-big bold rings, bigger the better   I really liked these https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=230635.00
-any of these knitted objects:   https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=223340.0 in black or white,  http://knitty.com/ISSUEspring08/PATTmosey.html in something more colourful, http://knitty.com/ISSUEfall08/PATTtatiana.html , http://knitty.com/ISSUEspring07/PATTbmp.html
-light drawing pen(s) http://www.instructables.com/id/LED-Light-Drawing-Pens-Tools-for-drawing-light-do/ or the stuff to make them
-fascinators and other frilly hair things
-schmancy girdle-style garrter belt (tight-fitting garter skirt I spose)
-wrist/ankle/neck bondage restraints/cuffs (something lacy would be cool), PM for measurements
-wall art, nerd/goth pin-up themed
-I love getting altoid mini shrines, PM me for themes if you havent already guessed a few, I would really love a darker themed one along the lines of circus sideshows or bondage/fetish

-lots of spoon charms like these http://www.skybluepink.com/images/charms/silverware.jpg
-interesting cookie cutters and small chocolate molds (I use them for gummies)
-flavour oils (i like watermelon, cherry, root beer, black licorice)

Ohhhh, I assumed they were black plates and not clear ones. Thanks for the info. SevsOnlyGirl, that's pretty dang smart of you, they look great.

Ohhh those plates are neat! What is the surface texture like...do you think you'd actually be able to use them for food?

Whooa, wisting the itty bitty motifs book!  All of these swap packages have been so great! Mine being no exception (by far the best package I've gotten yet, it's perfect!)  I think I have a craftster crush on korok  <3

The goods:
-A cupcake project bag complete with pockets for needles and a larger pocket for patterns, etc.
-A hand-painted robot pillow case to match my other pillows.
-Stamped robot cupcake toppers and some containers of sprinkles.
-A set of robot notecards and the handmade stamp she used if I want ot make more of my own
....even the polka dot tissue paper was cute.

Oh, and this hilarious note attached to the robot pillow case:

"...this made me think of splatters you would see if a robot went berzerk and shot other robots with his lasers. Why would the robots bleed? It's robotic fluid I guess."  xD

Thank you so much korok!! Cheesy

If you are ever going back, Gecko Beads in St. Jacob's is great, and this time of year you can take a bus from Conestoga Mall to St. Jacob's if memory serves me well. And St. Jacob's is just a cute little place to go regardless.

Glad to hear everyone had fun! Wish I had of made it out, but my picnic date ran late (now I'm sun burnt like a lobster...haha). There's always next month I guess!

The colour was a good idea! I don't think I'll make it for the meet-up time so now I might at least be able to catch up with everyone. But...I don't own red or pink! So..if you spot a blondie with a red bandana who looks like she wants to be Rosie the Riveter...it's me!
