31  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Gloves using less than 50 yards on: February 08, 2005 04:42:25 PM
Im an attempt to see what i really could do with handpsun yarns in quantities of 50 yards or less, I decided to try and make gloves that were simple enough for beginner and intermediate knitters.  You just have to be able to knit on dpn (these use size 5, but guage isnt super important)

"simple lace gloves"
"gossip gloves"

32  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Yarn/fiber sellers review (ebay and online) on: January 19, 2005 06:19:45 PM
This stems from these two threads:
https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=22615.0 and https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=22218.0

There are already websites devoted to commercial yarns and yarn store reviews, but I'd like to hear about (and create a list of) recommendations from ebay and/or online indie suppliers since it's hard to know who's products are wothwhile online and on ebay. If you can, include a link to their webiste or seller id.  Comments can be yarn specific, about the seller, whatever you think is importnat.  *For the price range please rate them on $/$$/$$$ scale, $ onviously being cheapest, since their individual product prices will vary and this is more about the seller then the specific yarn*

So here's a format:

33  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Please review my website *update- site load* midnightskyfibers.com handspun yarn on: January 15, 2005 10:16:35 PM
*update* so I am looking to see if my site is loading better now. I resized the pics (eep i didnt realize they were so big before) and resolutions so they are so ginormous Smiley- so is it loading faster for others??

The final straw to actually make me sit down and put together a website- eBay raising its fees.  bla.  So here it is:  http://www.midnightskyfibers.com.  I want to try and keep the layout/design really simple so they are not distracting and...

I would greatly appreciate any comments or suggestions for my website:

I am especially looking for:
-how i can  improve the design for navigation (is it easy for you to tell where you are and get from place to place?)
-do the descriptions for the yarn make sense?
- index/front page- anything i should add/change?
etc.  i would also like to know if it takes people a long time for the pages to load (and if so how can i fix that, since i alrady made the images into thumbnails)

Ill be adding links and my patterns in a couple days, so if you want to link to me email me atmidnightsky1686@yahoo.com and ill add you.

Im just wondering if there is anything else that I should say (need to say?) about my yarns that I am selling on ebay?  (I would love to do a store, but don't have time so ebay it is)

35  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / prinitng fairies on silk on: August 30, 2004 11:40:15 PM
SO ive been attempting to print fairies on silk (from thrift store shrits).  the questios are a.) how to finish them- do i need to rinse them in vinegar etc to set the printer dye? and b.) any idea what to do with silk printings? since they are pretty small.

(they are the first 2 pics on the blog atm)

the first one is maybe 1 1/2 by 3 inches printed on yellow silk

the otherone is 6 1/2 by 6 1/2 or so i think. didnt print nearly as well since the tension on the fabirc was a bit off where i taped it down. its on some red/purple silk i crockpot dyed a couple moths ago
