im actually less anemic (as in not at all) since becoming vegetarian, and i used to always always be anemic.  its all about how and what you eat

they had awesome skirts made like  arrhythmia  described dwn in austin- they hand a strtchy/ribbiing type band across the top for the waist and were done with four bandanas.

my brother thinks that the coating stuff works really well, though i find that just swiching with salt water is fine for me.

i third (or fourth?) the conditioner- esp if you have sensitive skin good to use something you know you wont react to.

i agree that vitamin e helps scars fade (and i seem to have a lot of scars- i scar almost no matter what cause of the type of skin i have, and my dermatologist told me that vitamin e worked, as did my dad, who is a doctor too)

autum- i have a scar on the middle of my forehead too from when iwas little and had the chicken pox, and another scar (well theres others on my face but not from when i was really little) from when i was in the hospital for 2 mnths when i was bron and they wouldnt cut my nails cause i was in icu, so i cut my cheek with my fingernail- its an inch long scar. you cant see any of them anymore.

if this person is a family friend isnt it possible that they might somehow mention the scar to your mom (not on purpose)?

hehe, i actually had to do a "study" on the diff types of knitting versus speed- and the result was that cont. was much faster.  some results:

averages for what hand they wrote wiht/dom with and how they knit (or closest to)
right cont   right eng   left cont   left eng
8.566   3.517   0.750   0.750

i got to do i whole buncch of mathmetical stuff (chi squared conversions and chi squared test etc), to find:
   Df= 1
 and since we can rej p (dont ask i cant even exp statistcs even after taking the class!) it means that cont knitting is faster Smiley if you really want i suppose i could email you the entire paper i had to write- but statistics is evil Smiley as is eng knitting

for jeans id def try to cut it cont- or it would b a pain since the jean fabric tends to be heavy.

(this is where size 50 knitting needles would be good!)

ive made bags etc out of striips of silk that i recycled from shirts from a  thrift store (bag sales are esp good for this). silk is also great fun to dye and then cut into strips, or shred and blend to spin a yarn.

if you look on <a href="http://wendyknits.net/wendy/knitting.htm"> the wendyknits.net </a> patterns page they have sockin structions that are decent  in the left hand column.

they had a pattern for this in one of the recent interweave knits using tinker toys! (so tempting if i can find mine)

how i would do it:
use a figure 8 cast on (no finishing the bottom!) knit on circulars or dpn.  line up the edge of the cast on with the dowels, etce tc etc.

i agree- you can "melt"- well, more of soften, them in boiling water and bend them
