I started these cable-knit wristwarmers a while back, and i am not really sure which row I'm on... (yeah...NOT a good idea to work without a rowcounter.....)

Yeah, that always annoys me. Just like this annoys me:

Ummm...neither can I....that's why rulers were invented???

Yes, making the time helps the process of learning go faster. I trained myself to be able to watch television while knitting, and just having something to do with your hands is comforting.

I'm a college student, and the nervous habits i could pick up could be either overeating, smoking or knitting.... i think i'll choose knitting.

I would most definitely double check with a sample though.
lol i remember my mom's first sweater...she bought what she thought was the prettiest looking yarn in the store and when it was done it looked like an alpine cardigan for chewbacca....

I would knit a little sample of it, like a 4" by 4" square. If its soft and not hairy, go for a sweater. If its a little on the fuzzy side, try a hat or scarf.

I think if you make a sample piece you can get an idea from that.
