1  Heart and Dagger Hoodie in Sublime Stitching Embroidery by Early Bird Special on: January 05, 2009 03:04:51 PM
My friend Susan asked me to embroider a hoodie she purchased for her niece's Christmas gift, and I was happy to help!

Honestly, this project took a little bit longer than I had anticipated. I think it was because I had such a small area to work in, since it was on the sleeve. Also, since this was on colored material, I decided to fill in the design, which is not something I normally do. The dagger is worked in satin stitch, and the heart is worked in split stitch, and it is all outlined with a black back stitch. I'd say it took about 5 to 6 hours.

In the end though, the extra time was worth it, because the colors really pop on the green fabric, and her niece loves it! I saw her over the weekend, wearing the jacket and she looked super cool.

Feeling inspired? These designs were selected from the Tattoo Your Towels patterns.

2  Country Cool Apron! in Sublime Stitching Embroidery by Early Bird Special on: December 18, 2008 02:13:34 PM
Hi there!

I wanted to share my latest project with you.  I embroidered a half apron from Sublime Stitching and used the Country Cool patterns.

The metallic floss is "Poppin' Pink" from the Metallic Pallette, also available through Sublime Stitching.

Hope you like it!

3  Mother's Day Gift in Sublime Stitching Embroidery by Early Bird Special on: May 02, 2008 07:31:22 PM
It's been a very long time since I shared a project here on Craftster, but I thought this one was too nice not to share.

With Mother's Day right around the corner, I'm pleased to say I'm almost finished with my gift.  All the major work is completed, and here it is:

I'm planning on stretching this on to a canvas, making it a wall hanging.  I added her last name underneath the horse.

This beautiful pattern came from the new Craft Pad book.

4  Our Lady of Guadalupe Pillow in Sublime Stitching Embroidery by Early Bird Special on: July 30, 2007 01:28:12 PM
Taking a break from the onesies, yes, but not the embroidery!  I decided to stick with my felt patch idea, and I stitched the Lady of Guadalupe from the Dia de los Muertos patterns.

I had this great vintage floral fabric that I've been saving for just the perfect project, and this was it!  I'm very happy with how it turned out.

Thanks for looking!

6  Born Bad! in Sublime Stitching Embroidery by Early Bird Special on: July 20, 2007 07:41:21 PM
So I got my new patterns in the mail yesterday and got right to work.  I totally love the new Mitch O'Connell patterns, and I can't wait to stitch the rest.  I decided to do the "Born Bad" design first.

The amount of thread strands varies throughout and I used split, stem & back stitches.  I made a felt patch, and will be attaching it to a onesie.

Thanks for looking!   Wink

7  Space Cadet Onesie! in Sublime Stitching Embroidery by Early Bird Special on: July 16, 2007 08:36:00 PM
So I bought this super cute onesie on clearance at Target the other day, and decided to cute it up even more with an embroidered patch.

I busted out the ol' faithful "Atomique" patterns. (I think they might be called "Spaced Out" now.)  I embroidered this foxy space cadet on a piece of felt.  So easy, and so cute.

8  Sweet Dreams Pillowcases in Sublime Stitching Embroidery by Early Bird Special on: July 13, 2007 01:33:04 PM
So I finally finished a set of pillowcases I've been working on.  The main interruption was having to move twice in three months, I don't recommend it.   Wink

Actually, I previously posted the pastry pillowcase, here:  https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=162104.0

Here is the ice cream pillowcase that I recently finished!

Thanks for looking!

10  Sweet Dreams Pillowcase, Now with BIGGER Pictures! in Sublime Stitching Embroidery by Early Bird Special on: April 04, 2007 03:51:01 PM
Here is a pillowcase I finished a couple of weeks ago.  I am going to be starting a mate for it soon.

Ok, now for the stitch details:  For the cakes and the cupcakes, I used a backstitch for the bottom part of the cake, and a split stitch for the frosting. Cake pattern source:  Stitch-it Kit & cupcake pattern source: Sublime Stitching book.

For the banner and the words, I used a back stitch.  Banner source:  Stitch-it Kit.  For the letters I used a font called:  Lariat

For the stars I made french knots using 2 strands of floss, and altered the colors from a mint green to a pistachio green, and used 4 strands of goldenrod for the stars.  Star pattern source:  Tattoo Your Towels.
