141  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Spoon Bracelets! on: November 17, 2007 07:19:35 AM
I have seen spoon jewelry before , but I have to tell you that I REALLY REALLY love yours . I love that they aren't the typical " bangle" you always see...the " floating stone" give is a really modern take , but still retains that romantic quais victorian feel . its eclectic and original and you should be proud :-)  WELL done ..give the hubby a big high five from me ....and take a big ol' high five for yourself while your at it!

146  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Re: Two Newly made from old stuff bracelets...(Image heavy...) on: November 17, 2007 06:59:15 AM
absolutley lovely!   i love  love love recucling old beads . Going to garage sales in retirement communities is one of my fave things ever ...seriously!  Not only do I get great deals on some awesome  de-constructable vinatge necklaces and earrings , but usually the sweet little old ladies will always tell you some really cool story about how she got the necklace , or like , how she wore the necklace on a trip to Italy in 1954 and was wearing it when she shook the Popes hand . I LOVE stuff like that !!

Anyway ..i'll stop rambling and just finish by saying your jewelry rocks!

150  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: more fun with shrinky dink!!! on: November 17, 2007 03:37:04 AM
nice! what do you seal yours with?

I use a two coats of diamond "triple thick high gloss spray enamel". Works great!...typically to seal in decoupage i would use UTEE , but with shrinky dink you cant use heat , so i looked for something that have a similar glossy look without the heat needed as not to warp the dink. The key is  to apply two THIN coats  of the spray , with at least 1 hour of drying time in between :-)
