1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / cable knit cardigan turned bag, hounds tooth lining :) on: January 20, 2009 11:24:43 AM
last night i was just browsing craftster feeling totally inspired. and i hadn't sewn in like a month and a half. So, i got to thinking about what i had in my stash, which i coincidentally have this AWESOME hounds tooth thats green and brown, then i dawned on me, i have this Eddie Bauer stretch cable cardigan in the perfect brown. i dissected it and this is what i came up with.

So long story short i have this favorite bag of mine, its brown leather made by sonoma (usually sold at kohls i think), and i decided i would "try" and draft up a similar style bag but with plaid, stretchy dark denim and black lace. this is what i came up with and i am really pleased with it. why is it that i CANNOT follow a pattern, but if i think it up it comes out as good as i could ever hope. Comments and Crit very welcome (if you see something that needs improvement pllllzzzz say it, even if it seems mean, i'm really trying to get better and i need all the help i can get.)

3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Quilted Wallet <3 updated 10/16 <3 on: October 06, 2008 11:55:52 AM
This is probably only the second legit usable thing i've sewn but i really loved the fabric and have been wanting to do this tutorial http://darnkat.wordpress.com/quilted-fabric-wallet-tutorial/
it was really easy to follow even for a newb like me. and turned out really well even though it looks a little (or a lot) more wonky then the actual pattern. i'd like to make another fixing some things that i didn't quite do right. but overall i'm preeeetty impressed with myself. Smiley

comments and crit welcome <3

close up of fabric

another close up. i'm so in love with this fabric. <3

So i happened to have some random scraps in my stash and had bought some halloween fabric and it matched pretty well so i whipped another one up.

4  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Less halloween more Harvest on: September 22, 2008 11:47:31 AM
but nevertheless came out pretty cute i think.
i decorated my fireplace mantel which is HUGE. like the depth of the top of the thing is as big as my whole arm basically.
I did harvesty instead of Halloweeny because you can leave it up longer
AAANNND i only spent $11.56  Grin

5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Camera Cozy on: September 05, 2008 12:32:31 PM
So i bought i new camera this week and much to my dismay it is too big for a small camera case and too small for a large case. so i thought i might make my own. i googled it and came across this tutorial. although mine isn't quite as cute...or quite as detailed. it still serves its purpose. i'm a newbie at sewing so i thought it turned out pretty well.

I love the colors mostly. my stitching skills i hope will get better with time

Comments and Critisism (and tips!) appreciated.
6  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / My Pups Toy box on: August 09, 2008 11:22:30 PM
So i first saw this done by lzepeda (https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=258974.msg2897736#msg2897736), i thought it was a great idea so i made one for my pups, because i love them Cheesy. So i went to michaels today, after going to 2 thrift stores and not really finding a box i really liked, and bought one for 5 bucks. also bought a few colors of paint (i had some at home also), some new brushes and 2 sheets of scrapbooking paper. total cost $14.36. i love it, its nice to have a cute place to put thier toys.

And an action shot of my sweet little clutch, even though he isn't really little anymore

Comments and Critisism welcome! Smiley
7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / ***Revamped Ipod Case and Key Fob w/ Mod Podge*** Pic Fatty on: August 02, 2008 10:07:29 PM
So i got a bright idea to redo my ipod case, which has seen better days. i work in aircraft so its got some battle scars. It was just your average clip style ipod case, pink leather, super scuffed, pretty disgusting looking. and the metal in the clip part ripped the leather so it rubs your leg and hurts like hell. so i had to redo that....so i got a litttle crazy with the mod podge. and this is what i got... i love it.

sorry bout the glare on that one.

part way through about my sixth coat of mod podge i looked down...and there my keys were....and i thought to myself....hmmmm what else could i mod podge...

Comments and critique very welcome  Kiss
8  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / metal Q hook on: March 08, 2008 10:48:24 PM
Has anybody ever found a steel Q size crochet hook? i can only find them in plastic and a metal one would be ideal for what i'm doing.
9  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / If you've seen one.... on: February 25, 2008 12:40:01 AM

10  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / my first completed project bigger than a hot pad on: January 01, 2008 10:54:18 PM
so i finally decided to try to make something bigger than a hot pad. i was inspired by my bf's adorable cousin and his wife having a baby soon. Shocked)
so i made a baby afghan. we're all from kansas and they are huge fans of KU, and went there for school....but i didn't want to go toooo red and blue so i did a baby blue and white for the bulk of it in a simple double crochet, and a brick red border single crocheted. then i made a plaid pattern over the top with navy blue and the same red as the border. i really like how it turned out. :oD my puppy clutch modeled it for you guys....how can you resist typical puppy modeling?Huh
getting impatient with my picture taking....
