11  ok, I know christmas is over... but (img chunky) in Winter Holidays by tattooed_lady on: January 23, 2008 07:40:14 PM
SO every year my work has a stocking decorating contest. A lot of people moan and grown about it, but I secretly love it! I won last years contest, and so the pressure was on for this year... so here is my stocking, I'm quite proud of it. I guess I should also explain that I work in a coffee shop and I am a coffee master and the resident tea expert... it might make more sense to know that  Wink

it was a dollar tree stocking. I hand stitched the colored blocks together and then hand sewed them onto the stocking, my name and the cups are felt that I embroidered around. I am very proud of this because I am way new to embroidery. It is also complete with coffee stains! I of course spilled my mocha on it when I was leaving work

12  fire starter in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by tattooed_lady on: January 10, 2008 03:40:20 AM
this is a bracelet that I made... I think I have mentioned my love of multi strand pieces... it might be an obsession...

its red and pink seed beads with crystal bi-cones (I can't spell their fancy name) and different shaped glass beads... I really like different textures
Thanks for looking, I hope you like it!

13  An ocean around your neck in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by tattooed_lady on: January 10, 2008 03:35:35 AM
This was one of my first big necklace projects. I like using multiple strands... its mostly blue seed beads with other beads thrown in.

I used silver cones to hide the crimp beads and attached it to a silver chain...

its a little heavy and I haven't found a reason to wear it yet, or an outfit to go with it but I really like how it turned out...
one more pic...

14  sort of quilt in Quilting: Completed Projects by tattooed_lady on: November 17, 2007 11:27:08 PM
This was my first attempt at quilting... its not really a quilt, but a comforter cover. This pic was taken a while ago on my dorm room floor so please excuse any visable mess!

15  mermaid charm bracelet in Beads: Completed Projects by tattooed_lady on: November 17, 2007 07:46:09 PM
this is a multistrand bracelet, most of my things are these days. I'm really into texture and I like how multiple strands of beads feel. Any way.... I work at starbucks, and this bracelet was inspired by the sirens eye... sort of.
the charm was actually my great grandmothers. When she passed away I was given her charm bracelet, I love my grandma, not so much the bracelet, so I have been re-purposing her charms into jewelry I will wear... that way I get to have a piece of her with me where ever I go.

this is a close up of the mermaid

16  my first beadloom project in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by tattooed_lady on: November 17, 2007 07:31:43 PM
I got a bead loom as a present from my dad... and this is the first project I did

this is bad lighting. The beads are two different shades of green. I really like the texture that a loom gives, but I'm not sure how else to connect a clasp to a loom project. I don't really like how the sides of the bracelet came out.
