1  Re: Ongoing Wish Swap Round 44 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by emilwa on: April 08, 2009 06:50:26 PM
I received this AMAZING package from dip_n_dot a while ago now and I'm finally well enough to post the pictures of it! I was expecting a pair of fingerless gloves, but she spoiled me rotten  Grin I actually got four pairs of fingerless gloves (in all my fave colours), a notebook and mini notebook with fairies (which i love) and some adorable cat toys which my kitty loves to death. On with the pictures!

The whole stash

Cat Toys (filled with catnip)

Aaaand a pic of one of the gloves on (perfect fit)

Thank you so much dip_n_dot, i love it all!

2  Red, backless formal (prom) dress in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by emilwa on: October 07, 2008 05:08:18 AM
A combined effort between me, my mum and my grandma for my senior formal. Finished half an hour before the formal (prom for those in America). The colour is deeper than it comes out in the photos. It's a much blue-er red. The closest to it is the top detail. And the dress somehow managed to get crushed in the 5 min car ride to the formal...hoorah satin!

Top detail:

Back Detail (that nearly killed us all):

Full length at formal with 2 of my best friends:

With my date, another best friend and her date:

I do love how co-ordinated we all are.

It nearly killed us, but it came out well i think. Your thoughts?

3  Extra Large men's pants --> high waisted shorty shorts in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by emilwa on: October 07, 2008 04:53:05 AM
A while ago my brother was going to throw out this pair of extra large long pinstriped pants coz they didn't fit. He'd only worn them like, twice and i couldnt stand to see them go, so i rescued them and put them in my stash. Then last weekend it was my best friend's 18th and i had nothing to wear. I wanted some high waisted shot shorts. I remembered these pants. I cut them up and made them into tiny me shorts! I forgot to take a before pic (typical) but im sure you can imagine extra large men's pants.

The shorts:

Logo (yes, BadBoy. Proof they were men's):

4  Gold Hotpants. With butt ruffle. in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by emilwa on: October 07, 2008 04:45:43 AM
So here in Australia (and also various other places around the world) we have a thing called The Rock Eisteddfod Challenge which is an epic competition in which teams from High Schools compete with dance performances. I've been doing it for a very long time and this year was my last year. My school made it to the Grand Final once again and we always dress up in our school's colours, this year being purple and gold. I decided i wanted gold hotpants. And so i made them. I then decided they weren't sparkly enough so i added a sequined butt ruffle. I was doing this the night before the final so they are unhemmed. The result? the most fun pants ever!

On the day (with my sexy make-up):

So there you have it. Gold Hotpants with Butt Ruffle   Cheesy

5  Re: must..make...this....dress!!!! *help finding a pattern in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by emilwa on: May 08, 2008 12:22:16 AM
Well, Rakuette, I have no idea if you've gone with one of the many other suggestions, but i have basically this exact pattern. You'd just have to add a collar and a tie round the back.

It's New Look 6242, but I don't think they make it anymore. If they don't, let me know and i'll see if i can track a copy down or send you mine.

Sorry about the terrible pics, i had to use my webcam.

6  My Christmas Dress (a little late) with pics instead of links in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by emilwa on: March 04, 2008 11:14:01 PM
[Modified to replace links]
So, last year I decided that I needed a Christmas dress 2 days before my annual Christmas Party and this is the result.

The whole dress:

Front Detail (yes, with bells):

Back Detail:

The top sits a bit strangely due to my complete lack of cleavage, but otherwise I'm fairly happy with it.

What do you think?
