1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Taking in pants 8 inches! on: May 13, 2008 06:05:30 AM
A coworker has recently lost 70lbs and has some expensive dress pants he would like to have taken in. He was a size 46 and is now 38.
I don't even know if this is possible.
Any suggestions/ ideas?
I'd really like to help him out.
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / 2 Bags on: April 30, 2008 05:58:54 PM
Here are 2 bags I made a couple months ago

This one is vinyl and fake wool
It's fully lined with inside pockets

This one is the vinyl on the outside, lined with black cotton printed with cherries.
There are two snaps on each side and one in the middle to help hold it closed

outside (oh yeah, I paintd the snap red to match)

3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Flowery Pin-up style summer dress on: April 30, 2008 05:53:18 PM
This dress is made out of upholstery fabric that I found at Walmart for like $2 a yard. I loved it so much I bought up all they had (about 3 yards)
As soon as I saw it, I knew it had to be a dress.

I made this dress from scratch. I suck at patterns!
This has my first attempt at a contoured bust and an invisible zipper (unfortunately I couldn't get a pic of the zipper)
It also has a drop waist and a small pleat at the front of the skirt.
I put in a few darts so it fits like a glove

someone else here made a really cute shirt out of this fabric. it's $1 a yard at walmart and i really love it. it's really soft.

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Copy of an AA dress ** more pics added on: February 06, 2008 06:30:04 AM
I basically copied an AA dress, but since I didn't have any jersey to use for it, I made it out of flannel. Oh yeah, and the pockets aren't finished yet.

This is the 1st project I've posted here.

Let me know what you think!
