11  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / help with landscaping quilt on: February 06, 2006 09:31:19 AM
I am planning on making a quilt that looks like a painting, any tips on how to do it? Has anyone made something like this. i bought a book on mkaing landscape quilts but it is for wallhangings and i want to actually use it as bedding. the book says to just sew close to the edges of the fabric you are appliqueing and i am wondering if when you wash it if it will fall apart. does anyone know has anyone ever done anything like this. help please.

here are two pics of my wedding dress that i made for my new years eve wedding just in time to get dressed and go to the location, literally. i finished 2 hours before. i made the dress, the veil and the feather headpiece.

THEME: 20th century, make a card for every decade from 1900- 1990

DISTRIBUTION:    each person will make 2 sets (20 cards total) and send them to two people. i will send you a list once sign up is complete. in return you will receive two set from two different people.

RULES:  ATCs must measure 2-1/2 x 3-1/2 inches, and be flat enough to slide into a standard trading card sleeve. Dimensional embellishment is acceptable, but remember that your finished card must fit into a standard trading card sleeve.

Cards are to be made in any way imaginable, with the theme of the 20th century.

The back of your cards should contain your name, any contact information you wish to provide, and the number or series of the card. Some artists start numbering their cards with number 1, and just keep going. Others will do series numbering, such as 1 of 7 or 1/7. How you number is totally up to you.

what about an atc swap of the 20th century. we could make 10 cards for each person (one for each decade) and maybe limit it to about 10 people. what do you think? we could have about a month or longer if necessary.

anyone got any cute ideas for new years eve decoration. i kinda wanted it to make it very winter inspired. so like snowflakes i guess, but i dont know what i really want so please just throw ideas at me.

i want to make something for my fiances grandmother, i was thinking about a cigarette holder, just a little sewn bag, but i dont know the dimensions of a cigarette pack. so if anyone could help that would be great.
or if anyone has any other ideas that would be fantastic too. i dont want to give her soap or candles. i have no idea what to give the woman.
