1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / DPN's - sizes to start.. on: November 09, 2007 11:24:41 PM
Haven't tried DPN's as yet, but would love to give it a whirl.

Would you recommend buying a set like the Knit Picks Harmony or would I be better off buying them separately.  If separately what sizes do you recommend I pick up first?

Thanks so much. Smiley

Cheers, Rava
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Some advice for a newbie knitter re: Glampyre please! on: November 08, 2007 02:41:43 PM
I'm a self taught knitter who has so far managed to keep only one project going at the time, being too scared to attempt another whilst having not completed whats on my needles.

Scarves and blankets are becoming very boring, quite quickly and I stumbled across Glampyre's site and bought the pattern for "one skein wonder" and am so itching to try it.

Knitting into the front and back is not a problem, so I'm not worried about that part of things, however "picking up stitches" is another matter.

For all you experienced knitters out there, would your recommend this pattern to a newbie wanting to try something else? and how hard is picking up stitches and knitting in the round for that matter?

If you couldn't guess I'm a bit of a 'fraidy cat  Tongue

Cheers, Rava
