1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Discussion and Questions / scrapbook/album question on: June 17, 2009 09:54:37 AM
Hi everyone, I'd like to start scrapbooking and I've been looking around for an album.. Is there a specific type I have to use? It is difficult to find scrapbook stores around here... Can I use a regular folder with plastic slots? I also see photo albums with a piece of plastic sheet attached over the page that you can tear out, put your photo in and stick it back down. Would that kind of album work? Please help!

Thank you!
2  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Discussion and Questions / Bedroom plants? on: May 16, 2009 10:08:31 AM
Hi everyone!

I'm going to re-do my bedroom, and I was thinking of adding a wall shelf to start a mini garden. Is this possible? What would be some good plants to grow? I have never planted ANYTHING before, so something cheap and low maintenance would be good. Also, I live in a 2nd floor apartment in Singapore. Weather is hot and humid all year round. I would be unable to add the shelf next to the window because of the curtains.

To summarize, I need indoor plants with no need for direct sunlight. Are cacti the only solution???
3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Need help: doll clothes! on: December 03, 2008 06:47:49 AM
Hi guys! I'm planning on to make a doll of my boyfriend in his uniform to celebrate his commissioning next month!
This is an example of what he will be wearing: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3094/2621550114_174ff82d36.jpg?v=0

Any ideas on how to make the clothes? Should I make the jacket separately? Before or after sewing together all the body parts? Any suggestions on possible doll patterns? I would like to make it as detailed as possible but I'm really having difficulty planning it!!

Thanks for your help! Smiley

5  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / My First Time With Needle And Thread on: January 21, 2008 03:44:50 AM
After lurking around Craftster for so long, I finally embarked on my very first sewing project! Presenting.. Wonky Bunny!!

Sewn entirely by hand of course, I hadn't learnt how to work the sewing machine yet!! Lol! This is Kwoozy's pattern. My stitches are really wonky (hence his name), but I still think he's cute!

Wonky having acupuncture therapy.

I bought the fabric for Wonky at Spotlight.. $5 from the scrap bin.. Sigh I didnt know any better then... I could have gotten similar fabric for $3 a yard elsewhere! Sad oh well.
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Question about elastic bands on: January 18, 2008 02:49:28 AM
i'm working on a circle skirt, with an elastic waistband instead of a zip. am i supposed to sew the elastic onto the waistband? or do i join the elastic ends so it's a circle, then cover with the waistband piece and sew down? my waistband is about 4 inches, but i only managed to get a 1 inch wide piece of elastic. please comment!
