1  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Care Bear Shelf on: April 19, 2008 09:56:57 AM
Hello!  My MIL bought the stuff (styrofoam rectangles, glue, fabric, pink fuzzy stuff, small Care Bears, wooden letter things she made) to make this little shelf...she told me what she wanted, and asked me to construct it.  This is what I came up with.

She was pleased.  This is for my SIL, she is expecting her first baby (girl) this summer.  She's decorating the room in Care Bears.

Hope you like it.

2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Lawn Chair Bag! on: March 25, 2008 12:37:03 AM
This is not a recon, because I bought Lawn Chair Webbing specifically for this project.  I did not reuse old webbing.  I guess you could, though.  If I posted this in the wrong spot, mods feel free to move it.  Thanks!

So, I saw this tutorial:  http://www.twofoos.com/crafts/sp.html for a seatbelt bag...cool...I showed my MIL and she said, "that would look cool made out of Lawnchair webbing!" so we got on ebay, ordered some, and here is our first of many bags...

If we were to try to sell these (evenutually) do you think people would buy them???

Comments/Critisizms welcome!!!   Thanks!!!

3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Magnets for Mother's Day... on: March 15, 2008 05:26:09 PM
I used Sharpies with stencils on Shrinky Dink paper...then added teeny tiny magnets to the backs....I think I will give to Mom for mother's day, since they are the names of me and my sister and our husbands and kids....think she will like?

4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / What's Black & White on the outside and pink on the inside? on: March 15, 2008 05:20:57 PM
My new purse, of course!   Grin

I started working on this last night, and broke my last needle, so I didn't get to finish it till after a trip to the fabric store (oh darn!) today...I'm pretty happy with it.  I wanted to topstitch around the top but it was too thick and I couldn't.  Also, my handles are a bit "weak" or "thin" since I didn't add webbing to them...

(((It was made from Simplicity Pattern # 8331, view E)))

Comments/Questions are always welcome!!!

7  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Melted pony bead bowls on: January 28, 2008 09:10:31 PM
Well I won't be doing this anymore, unless I do it outside on the grill...what a nasty stink this makes...but, here are my pretty bowls!!!

I like the "tri" beads better...and the "see through" melted quicker.
8  COOKING / Dessert / Princess Cake on: January 15, 2008 08:54:41 PM
I just ran across these photos, thought I'd post...

Back in September, I had a princess themed sleepover for the little girls at our church...this is the cake I made

and we didn't plan this part, but one of the young women that helped out at the party...dressed up just like the cake...

It was alot of fun!  All the girls had blueish/green teeth after eating the cake!!!

9  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Discussion and Questions / My first time... on: December 28, 2007 02:31:22 PM
I've been sewing for about 2 months now, making bags & purses & whatnot...I think I am ready to make a garment.  I bought Simplicity 3893. I'm going to make view A.  I've seen view B on here before, and I really liked it...I bought cheap walmart fabric, for the first one...we'll see how it turns out, then I'll get a nicer fabric and do it again...

Does anyone have any advice for a first garment?  I bought the pattern that has my RTW size, but I will have to measure myself to see which size to actually make.  Do patterns tend to run big or small or same as RTW?

Say a little prayer for me this weekend...we'll see how it goes!!!

PS- I just LOVE this website!!!  Grin
10  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Black & White Tote on: December 27, 2007 08:07:52 AM
I made this bag for my MIL for Christmas.  She really liked it and also decided it could be reversable...since I didn't put pockets inside and did put some on the outside.

It was this pattern:

Any questions/comments appreciated!
