1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Tutorial/pattern for a sling bag? on: September 12, 2008 01:20:36 PM
I've searched through the craftster tutorial list and didn't see anything quite like what I'm looking for. I'd like to make a bag in this style: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=15124375
(the style of the flap not included)

The tutorial does not have to be identical to the bag, but I've never sewn a purse before and need some sort of direction. Also, if anyone has any tips on types of fabric best used or on bag making in general, that would be great.
2  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / The difference between Matte and Velveteen? on: April 22, 2008 10:22:17 PM
My stencils in the past have all been done using Matte Tulip Soft Fabric Paint, but the last time I went to pick up some more I accidently picked up Velveteen instead. I've lost the reciept and can't return it. Could anyone tell me the major differences between these two paints? If I was making my next shirt for myself I wouldn't mind, but because it's for someone else I'm nervous to use it if it's not going to give me the effect I'm looking for.

Thank you!
3  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Going Nuts! (very image-heavy) on: January 22, 2008 04:49:20 PM
I love all of these! I'm totally inspired. Do you know of any online tutorials for various knots? I've started to work with hemp but I only know how to do a few different knots.

I would've never guess you made this out of an old sweater! It looks very comfortable.

and, oh! I want that zombie stencil!

Me too!

Your stencilling is very clean by the way, and the little M & J in the swirls is an adorable idea.
