2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Kewl Kat on: November 19, 2010 02:28:38 AM
Well its a sock monkey pattern but it didnt turn out looking like a monkey so I named it Kat.

Got the socks at the dollar store for wait for preg_replace('/(.{49})/', '$1 ', 'it....................................................wait') for preg_replace('/(.{49})/', '$1 ', 'it................................................................................') a dollar!

I gave her a sparkly dress. Strappy shoes, a bracelet and two piercings. One on her eyebrow and one on her tail.

She reeks of attitude & sweetness.♥

3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Preggo Kitty on: November 19, 2010 02:02:27 AM
So one day a few years ago I got the idea to make a pregnant doll. It was very small and I think I posted it on here somewhere.....

Well now ive gone and made a pregnant kitty.
In some ways she didnt turn out the way I planned and in some ways she turned out better.

I started by sewing a piece of clear plastic on to a square of fabric. Then I cut a circle out exposing the plastic. Then I sewed another piece of fabric to them so the pretty side showed through the plastic... this made a pocket for the baby.

Then I made a tiny little kitty by just drawing a random body shape and stitching around it, turning and stuffing... Then I embroidered eyes on it. Shut of course. I glued on a tiny tail and made it an umbilical cord out of brown thread crocheted into a chain and sewn through its belly. I stuffed it in the belly pocket with some sparkley ribbon, some glitter, rhinestones and seed beads to make the fanciest placenta and amniotic water EVER!
Then I glued the pocket up nice and tight.

I dont like the way the womb got stuffed. There is so much in it and its so tight that you cant really see the baby or the details on him. :-(
I also stuffed it so tight it doesnt move around like id like....
But none the less... I carried on.

I found a random cat head shape online and printed out a pattern for that. sewed and stuffed it and sewed it on to the body which was now a stuffed pregnant square.

The legs and arms I wanted long and dangley so I sewed four identital strips, turned, stuffed and then stitched down the center for knee and elbow joints. A button hole at the top connects them to the shoulder and hip buttons and makes them movable. This idea I love.... It gives her so much life. I decided not to give her a face.

Her tail is braided. I glued 6 strips together, 2, 2 & 2 front to back to make three strips with pretty side on both sides and then braided them.

I gave her a gold scarf to hide her neck stitches.

If you have any questions about it just ask.... ill try to get better about taking pix during and not only after.

Shalom and MeOWWW!

4  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / I ♥ U Wall Hanging on: November 19, 2010 01:31:51 AM
So I was farting around with an idea last night. I remember trying this years ago and never finishing. I dont know where I got the idea but here it is.

Basically you take a large piece of freezer paper and start sewing scraps on it with the wax side up. When you iron it the wax sticks to the fabric a little and the stiffness of the paper keeps the whole thing stable.

I just sewed and sewed shaped on it. At one point I sewed strips of fabric together (not on the freezer paper) then cut them, reversed every other one and then sewed them back together kinda like quilt piecing but without matching the seams.. then I put that at the bottom.

My goal was not to be too picky about seams or stitches or to get OCD about the whole thing but to just go with it and have fun and use whatever mistakes came up. I started this on my WalMart Brother PRW CE5000 (of which I have nicknamed The B!tch) and I finished it on my Janome Thread Banger. Needless to say I am a happy camper and the B!tch is in the closet.

Anyway.... then I just added stitching and some buttons. A bit of applique with some strips of tulle and ribbon and WAH LAH.... My little wall hanging. :-D

I ♥ U

7  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: Cheerleader Clown on: November 04, 2009 01:24:21 PM
Aww thank you!! I have a few people say "Im afraid of clowns" and I just say "OMG IM afraid of people who are afraid of clowns!!"

Hey does anyone know how to change the thumbnail that goes with this post? Id like it to be one of the photos of the whole costume instead of just the material.

8  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Cheerleader Clown on: November 04, 2009 03:39:14 AM

OK I love clowns and im a cheerleader coach so I decided to make a cheerleader clown costume. I named my clown Rahni Starr. Get it Rah Rah Rahni??  Grin

B! Angry

But worth it. Cause I can still wear it and go clownin around.  Tongue

Ok First I found some material I liked

Then I used one of the millionz of cheerleading catalogs I have lying around here to order a very basic cheer costume.

I dont have any "in the process" pictures sorry.
But this is how it turned out. I do have one of me in it before I made the bloomers and with no makeup on but I cant find it.

This is the costume and its elements laid out.

I lucked out with the shoes. Wal Mart 10$ Thank you Hannah Montana!
I added the star and pink shoelaces.

Ok clown makeup is evil. It takes FOREVER to get it on and get it right and if you mess up its hard to fix.

Heres a closeup
Sorry im a graphic artist too... I had to take the ugly background out. :-P

Last one
Rahni out and about on Halloween.
We went on a hayride, hung out with friends and ate a late dinner with my mom and sister.

I hope you like it.
I love it!! I put the whole thing on a few times before to make sure it was right and once after. I plan on using it again and again.

Anyone have a unicycle for sale??
