1  Help recreating a necklace in Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions by Alatarial on: January 19, 2016 03:47:35 PM
I lost my favorite necklace a few nights ago, and I really, really miss it. After failing to find a similar necklace that I could afford, I decided to look into DIYing it. I have a little bit of experience in making jewelry, but I don't know how to make this:

I found a source on etsy for the chain, but I don't know how to finish the chain...as in, I don't know what to put on the edges/tips so that it won't scratch me all up. Any help is appreciated!

2  Re: Ongoing Yet Another TM Patch Swap Round 1 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Alatarial on: September 17, 2015 05:41:12 PM
I received a pair of lovely patches from Crazyda79.

I love the glitter on the heart patch (glitter was another one of my themes!), and I cannot get enough of the Sylvia Rivera patch! I mean, look at the rainbow background! And the hair! Basically, the whole patch is pure awesome. I could not be happier Smiley
Thank you, Brenda!

Thank you BigBangMomma for waiting so patiently while I upload pics of the goodies you made me!

This denim bag looks just like something on my "fragal" Pinterest board! AND, the timing was perfect since the old grocery bag I've been using for years a long time ripped.

And I LOVE this top! The colors, the floral pattern, the style... It's SO me!

Thank you so much, BigBangMomma! I love my package!

On another note, my _____ arrived in the mail, so I'll be putting the finishing touches on my project and sending out soon Smiley

Also, this isn't swap related, but I'd really appreciate if you guys sent good thoughts to the people in Napa, CA. A lot of my partner's family lives up there, and while none were hurt, two of his cousin's houses were damaged by the earthquake and his aunt's house was burnt down.

4  Teesha Moore inspired patch wall hanging (LOTS of pics!) in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by Alatarial on: August 19, 2013 11:39:55 PM
Once you start making Teesha Moore patches, you get hooked! So, when my partner, MissCrafty29, mentioned that she would like a wall hanging and that she liked patches, I knew what to do Smiley I made this eco/vegan themed patch wall hanging and had a blast.

One of my favorite patches was the "mushroom" patch because all the stitching around the mushrooms gave it a sort of 3-D effect:

Some more patches:

I hand dyed/painted the fabric for these patches:

Annnnnd the "Earth" patch:

I was so in love with this wall hanging that a tiny part of me wanted to keep it, lol. Guess I better hurry up and finish my next patch project!

I received an ah-mazing package from WiseOne, today. She pretty much spoiled me rotten and sent me enough supplies to finish my purse!

She sent me a bunch of fabric for patch making, another bundle of 2-inch strips to make a purse strap, 8(!) patches for me to finish, and three awesome eco/nature-themed patches. She even sent me a flier for me to re-purpose because it looked like an image off of my pinterest! How thoughtful is she?!

I hope the pictures are OK. I've packed my camera already, so I've taken these pics with my phone.

Here's a group shot:

Here are pics of the finished patches:

Thank you SO much! I love my patches!!!

6  Re: Hippy Swap Round 8 - Gallery of Hippy Happiness! in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by Alatarial on: August 13, 2013 03:16:35 PM
I received a fantastic package in the mail yesterday all the way from Canada Smiley The package was wrapped in brown packaging paper and doodled on by MissCrafty29's little one. I couldn't wait to open it up!
I got a bandanna, a slouchy beanie, a shirt (but it fits me like a dress, lol), some cute bracelets, a pair of earrings, a necklace, two bars of soap, and a set of Canada pins.
Here is a group shot of everything:

Now, I have to mention, that once I opened up the package, before I could even see its contents, I could smell that there was something very fragrant in there. I couldn't quite pick out the scent... It smelled a little minty and lavendery?? As it turned out, I was smelling the Patchouli and Cinnamon soap in combination with the hemp soap.

Yup, it seems that this soap is a bit of an aphrodisiac. I'm not going to say anything more about that except that I think I'll accidentally misplace my partner's soap... Wink

I'm really loving the jewelry MissCrafty29 made me! They are straight out of my pinterest board! I'm especially loving those bracelets... How cute are those charms?!

And you didn't think I would end this post without some action shots, did you?

Me wearing the beanie:

Me wearing the shirt/dress:

I'm very short and petite so I'll probably wear this as a dress with tights underneath. And I hope you can excuse the bathroom selfie... There was no one around for me to coerce into taking a photo of me. I don't know if you can tell from the photo but misscrafty29 hand dyed this shirt/dress Smiley

She also embroidered the venus symbol (but with a heart) onto the arm. It looks a little wonky in the photo because I'm twisting in a weird way, but in person, it looks fantastic and I LOVE it! The feminist in me got really exited to see it!

Anyways, that's my awesome package! I loved it all! Thank you so much MissCrafty29!!

I received a fabulous package from Beunruffled yesterday!

I got some super cute crochet footless sandals that I've been prancing around in all day, and a cute crochet bikini top!
I must say that she has some crazy mad crochet skills, and she used them to spoil me Cheesy

The great pics are also a courtesy of Beunruffled:

Now aren't y'all jealous?! Thank you so much, Suzanne! I love it all!

My camera finally finished charging, so I've got some lovely pictures for you all.

First of all, chrmisha used Harry Potter stationary to write me a note...

I let chrmisha surprise me with whatever she wanted to craft for me, but I did -hint- that I loved the "always" quote and that a hoop would be nice. I wasn't sure what I would get (I love surprises) and now I LOVE what she made me!

A Snape and Lily "Always" hoop in metalic thread and with some cute charms, including a bottle of veritaserum!

The back of the hoop:

I also got this cute bracelet:

I LOVE my package! Everything in it is so me... I'm going to hang up my hoop right away, and I know that I'll be wearing the bracelet soon. Thank you so much, chrmisha! You rock!

10  Re: And Still More Teesha Moore Inspired Patches Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Alatarial on: June 24, 2013 04:27:00 PM
My camera is finally done charging, so here are  the pictures of the patches I received from StickerChic87.

One of my themes was "my favorite books" and both patches are of some of my favorite books. The first patch has arrows on it for The Hunger Games. The  texture is really great on this one:

The next patch is for A Clockwork Orange (it's the eye from the book cover). The eye was painted on there using a freezer paper stencil, making it truly one of a kind!

I just looove both patches! Thank you so much, StickerChic87!! My only "regret" in this swap was signing up for only one partner. I've become hooked on making these patches and seeing what others come up with.
