1  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Embarrassed little puppy on: October 25, 2010 09:26:29 PM
Apparently my doggy isn't very happy with her new sweater.
I used a pattern I found online here:

A few hours & some scrap yarn & I have one unhappy dog. She really does like her sweater, she's just a bit freaked out that I put her in my yarn. I spend a lot time unwrapping her and shooing her away from my yarn. She didn't know what to do when I started trying in on her with the strings still attached!

2  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Panda Hat on: October 25, 2010 09:18:53 PM
I found 2 hanks of lovely soft wool at the thrift store this summer. I made my very 1st hat by combining several different hat patterns from the web.
The flaps are a little flappy & the ears are a little big but my DD loves it!

3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Owly sewing book on: March 09, 2010 11:05:30 PM
I made this for OWS #56 but I just going to share it here.  Wink
I saw something similar on someone's wist. It was just a thumbnail but I really liked it.
All the fabric is from my stash (buttons, felt & rick rak too) and the gingham, chenille and floral are all from a reclaimed Baby Lulu dress.

The little flap inside lifts up to make it easy to store & remove your pins.
I'm sorry the colors are a little washed out -- I want to get this in the mail tomorrow am so I had to go with the nighttime light in the house.

4  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Yo Gabba Gabba Brobee Crochet Blanket on: December 11, 2009 10:28:34 AM
I made this blanket for my niece for Christmas.
My 1st blanket and large crochet project ever.

I totally lifted the idea from MoreLove.

5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Simple Bag on: October 28, 2009 10:39:43 PM
So it's nothing fabulous but my DD loves it. And I'm madly in love with the fabric.
I wasn't able to tear it way from her to get a good photo of the pencil pockets inside the outside pocket. There is also a pocket inside hanging from the top hem.
I did not line the bag but I did use a neat & clean french seam.

6  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Owl bib on: September 27, 2009 01:37:24 PM
My 1st completed crochet project.
From the Lion's Yarn web page.

7  CROCHET / Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller / Fuzzy Bunny turned kitty slippers on: September 27, 2009 01:36:27 PM
From the famous Fuzzy Bunny Slipper Pattern in the Stitch N Bitch Happy Hooker book.
This is my 1st large crochet project. I've completed a bib & a few dish clothes previously.
I used Jo Ann's Sensations yarn & TLC baby.

8  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Newbie pattern reading question on: February 25, 2009 09:23:12 PM
I feel really stupid asking this but I figure who better than you guys.....
I want to make the Chevron throw at Lion.com

The pattern reads:

With A, ch 123.
Row 1: Dc in 3rd ch from hook, *dc in next 3 ch, dc3tog, dc in next 3 ch, 3 dc in next ch; rep from * 10 more times, dc in next 3 ch, dc3tog, dc in next 3 ch, 2 dc in last ch 12 ripples.

In plain English?
Double crochet 3rd chain from the hook (got it)
Double crochet in the next 3 chains
(so I have _4_ double crochets before the 1st dc3tog. correct?)
I know ** means to repeat what's inside
Double crochet 3 chains together. (think I've got it!)
Double crochet in the next 3 chains
3 double crochet in next chain. <---- here's where I am confused. Do I put 3 double crochets in ONE chain?

The I repeat the repeated part EXCEPT I just put 2 double crochets in the last chain.

I understand the 2nd part -- all except the last bit.
Row 2: Ch 3, turn, dc in first dc, *dc in next 3 dc, dc3tog, dc in next 3 dc, 3 dc in next dc; rep from * 10 more times, dc in next 3 dc, dc3tog, dc in next 3 dc, 2 dc in top of turning ch.

? put 2 double crochets in top of turning chain? What IN TOP OF & where did the turning chain come from? If I am visualizing this correct won't the end of row 2 be the very beginning of row one?

I'm so sorry I sound so stupid. I really want to make this... it's EXACTLY like my blankie my G.grandma made me before I was born 36 years ago. Thanks for your help!!!!!!!!!

9  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Recycled Brobee Pillow from Yo Gabba Gabba on: December 07, 2008 05:30:12 PM

My 17m old niece is obsessed with Yo Gabba Gabba.
I saw striped fuzzy PJs at the thrift store for $.50 & thought of Brobee.
I made him from old red & green napkins off the line at work, felt scraps & old feety PJs.
It's not quite what I had in mind when I started cutting into the PJs -- but I think he's the perfect size for her little hands & head. And he's so soft!

As an added bonus, I had help from my 10 yo niece drafting the pattern pieces.
