I've been in a Halloween mood lately, so I wanted to make something quick and festive Cheesy

Here is a cute little ghost friend...my favorite part is the sparkly silver yarn lining Cheesy

Jack o' Lantern faces!

This is not Halloween, but it perfectly describes how I feel when I have to get up early LOL

3  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / White Chocolate Covered Strawberry Amigurumi on: July 02, 2010 10:11:01 AM
Ever since I saw a picture of a chocolate covered strawberry ornament (plastic) by Martha Stewart, I've been dying to make one. Well fast forward a year lol and this is what I came up with. I wish I got a picture of the strawberry drizzle though!

I think I'll make a bunch of these around Christmas for ornaments for trees Smiley

4  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Crocheting afghan in the round but it's turning into a bowl! on: April 24, 2010 09:06:38 PM
I am working on the 12 pointed ripple afghan, but somehow I accidently ended up with 9 points, so I know that's the reason it's turning bowl shaped. I really didint want to redo it, so is there a way to fix it so the rest is flat? Increase more?

I'm having a baby boy next month, and his Daddy's favorite superhero is Spiderman...so I thought it would be neat to make him a little Spiderman beanie to wear! It was quick, under 2 hours...I just hope it fits  Grin

It's almost that that time...spring! March 20th marks the first day of spring for 2009, and Easter is on April 12th. So let's celebrate! This is a medium sized Spring Easter swap, and I'll match partners to each other who'd like to focus on more of the religous aspects, or more on the non religious happy spring aspects. Bunnies, baby
chicks, chocolates, robins eggs, lambs, flowers...lets craft spring!

This is a 3 point swap. There is great information on what the sizes/points mean at the Swap Info Guide Here:

LARGE item = 3 points
MEDIUM item = 2 points
SMALL item = 1 point

There is a little over 3 weeks for crafting time, but if people are saying there is not enough time, I'll lower the points  Smiley You and your partner can agree to craft more then that, just make sure you are both communicating, and you both agree.

Please post at least once a week in this thread so I can make sure everyone is still here and active, if you do not show good communication, it will be noted in your feedback.

Delivery Confirmation is required if you live within the US. If you are international, please retain your receipt so you can prove your package was shipped, if it goes missing. Please PM both Starfishsea and your partner the DC # when you ship.

Partners will be assigned and posted on Thursday March 12th. I will also PM everyone with their partners questionnaire.

8  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Baby Cocoon Papoose on: February 27, 2009 03:10:45 PM
A friend of mine is due any day now, so I thought I'd send her a little baby cocoon....it's cold in winter in Oregon! Smiley It measures 18 inches long, and 12 inches wide.

It's made with 2 strands of yarn (1 regular, 1 boucle) to help keep it tight....so no little toes or hands can get stuck in the stitches. I'm not normally a fan of generic baby colors, but I was in a hurry and I had to use up stash yarn Smiley

I don't have a baby to model yet...so a teddy bear will have to do!

9  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Another Cupcake Hat - Glow in the dark! on: February 06, 2009 09:12:14 AM
This cupcake hat was requested to have fluffy white frosting, a minty green base, button sprinkles and a cherry. She said it was going to be worn at raves....which made me remember the glow in the dark yarn I bought during Halloween!

I completely forgot to take a picture of it glowing in the dark before I sent it off though, I was in a hurry Sad I know these pictures aren't the greatest, but it's been raining so it was hard to get a nice clear shot.

That glow in the dark yarn felt very fake, but it's still pretty cool Smiley I'm pretty sure you can still find it online, it's by Bernat.

10  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Has anyone contributed to Crochet Today? on: February 06, 2009 08:48:12 AM
I know it's kind of a pipe dream  Grin but I thought it would be fun to submit a couple of things to Crochet Today. How would one go about doing that. I found this on the Coats and Clark website which looks promising:

Design submissions are reviewed with our publication and publicity needs in mind. For information on submitting designs or using our products in your published projects contact:

Coats & Clark
Attn: Design Production
153 Metro Court
Greer, SC 29650

So would I send the actual item I crochet? Or just pictures and the pattern? Any suggestions or experience stories would be greatly appreciated!  Grin
